I put some 1.6" ones on instead of the 2" tires it came with, made a difference. Slicks are in the future.

Yes I got the Brooks w/springs when I had my Specialized Comfort bike. I put it on the 4300 since it was a hardtail. Rides good! Better pics to follow. Just ordered a Honey B17 Champion Special for my 7.5 FX.
bdinger, I did have a severe problem with hand numbing with this bike even switching hand positions with the bar ends. Hence the wanting of the Aerobars. A little (lot) of concentration to ride with my shoulders back did a lot for me, keep my spine supple and elbows bent. Posture. Worked wonders!

I have to admit for the time being, it's more comfortable than my FX.

Thanks Brian, got the interchange bag on the back for trips to the store. Slimmed down the tires from 2" to 1.6, made a big difference. Slicks to come. Wiped out on the FX today, posted...ugh...starting to feel it, took the 4300 out for a ride just to stay loose with some Aleve......isn't working too well lol.

How does it compare to the FX? I actually went to my LBS to look at a 4300, they steered me towards the FX line when I told them I would probably be on pavement 99% of the time (I think they were right, I wound up buying a 7.2 FX). But I am considering getting a 4300 Disc or 4500 in the future to get in the dirt...

For those of you with some rather vintage bicycles there was another brand that was considered an equal to the Brooks line, and that was the Ideale brand saddle from France.
I'm just starting to ride again after a long period of incapacitation and I have a TREK 7500, which provides the more upright position my back, shoulders, and wrists demand. I also have a Motobecane Grand Jubilee (c. 1975) that has an Ideale 80 saddle. That saddle has migrated to the Trek to protect my rather tender nether regions! If I need to purchase a new saddle the Brooks line is the only place I'll look.
Take care.
