Sat. Ride..Tour De Goodwill
This is our biggest charity ride in Shreveport with routes of 25, 50, 75, and 100. Rode with a buddy and having rode the 100 last year, we opted for the 50. Started with a fast paceline but they dropped us about 15 miles into it when we hit a few small hills... Continued on and caught a paceline doing about 19-20 mph which is more like it and about 8 miles with these guys and I get my first flat. I told my buddy to ride on with the group but he wouldnt. Another 8 miles and I get my second and last flat. Glad I had 2 tubes but I had patches also.
At the end, his computer read 53.9 miles, 2 hrs. 55 min., avg speed 18.5 mph. Our average coulda been a little higher had I not had the flats and we hung with the second paceline but a nice ride anyway.
The only breaks we took were my 2 flats
Goodwill did a nice job . Although we didn't stop, there were rest stops about every 12 - 15 miles, the routes were clearly marked, and SAG support. At the finish, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, trimmings, and Jambalaya!
On a "LIGHTER" note, i weighed this morning before the ride and was 198ish! Been eating more veggies and less Natural Light! I'll know in a few weeks if I can hold the weight under 200 but it has been a downright struggle to get below that mark.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.
