WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!! 198 lbs

I finally made it, well actually rather quickly I think. At my moms funeral I weighed 221, her funeral was April 11th, 2008. Today I weigh 198 lbs.

Thanks to my new Trek Pilot 5.0 which I absolutely love riding compared to my other roadbike which just isn't fitted well. Also a whole new eating plan has done wonders for me.

Now my next goal is to hit 185 lbs, can't wait to get under 190.

Jeff

Congrats on your weight loss! That's alot of weight to lose in a short time. Sad to hear about your Mother. Can we get tips on your eating plan?

Thanks everyone. I used to be a lightweight until I quit smoking, then I piled on the weight. I know it has to be easier to lose weight than to quit smoking 3 packs a day again.

As for my diet plan, pretty simple really. Quit with the fast food, quit with the potato chips, quit with the candy and mid day snacks, and replace all with fresh fruit and vegetables.

I used to have this serious problem with late night snacking, usually around 10:00pm I would have to eat some sort of snack. Unfortunately I am hopelessly addicted to ice cream. I have discovered skinny cow ice cream bars which are considerably less damaging to ones body and are extremely tasty. I have also basically trained my body now to eat my three meals per day, and occasionaly a skinny cow ice cream bar and thats it other than granola bars. When you eat as crappy as I was, switching it up to healthier foods is a no brainer for weight loss.

Congrats! That is a lot of weight quickly. I hope to get emeritus status eventually.

I feel dumb. I had to google "emeritus":o. A very fitting word.

If you guys are going to kick me out, I'll throw a couple pounds back on so I can stay :D

As far as how much I lost in the time I did, I can't imagine my doctor would be to supportive of it thats for sure. As I mentioned above, I changed my eating habits, ride even more than I was, I have also started my own business and am dealing with my moms estate (lost my dad about 2 years ago, mom was 60, dad was 59). So their is also a bit of a stress factor involved causing me to lose some weight as well I believe. All in all, when things settle down I hope to be well on my way to 185 or less.

Again thanks everyone.

You can borrow some of my weight if needed to keep your clyde status. Congrats on the achievement.

stevesurf 05-30-08 09:06 AM

Great news; my personal goal as well! My sincere condolences of the loss of your Mom.

Good job! You inspired me not to cheat at lunch today.

Though there's still dinner...

wrk101 05-30-08 05:49 PM

Well done! And fast too. I have been working on it since Jan 1st, and am now hanging at 201. I am looking forward to joining you on this achievement.

st0ut 05-30-08 06:20 PM

great job glad you want to get that buffer in as well.

Missbumble 05-30-08 08:48 PM

Hey Piettte - Congrats...sorry to hear about your Mom!

The other trick to the late nioght eating...is to go to bed earlier...sounds simple...but it works if you get in the habit.

I am hoping to join you under 200...then will be such a fox y'all will go crazy :).

Good luck,

Miss Bumble

HigherGround 05-30-08 09:24 PM

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I'm sure there's no easy way to go through something like that.

On the bright side, congratulations on the weight loss, and good luck with the next goal. I'm trying to go from 215 to 175, and I am hoping that breaking it down to smaller goals will make it easier. First target: 200 pounds. And thanks for the tip on the Skinny Cow ice cream bars! ;)
