First Ride, Post-crash! I'm whooped, sore and very happy with it!
Well, I just got my first ride in after the crash a couple of weeks ago. Granted, I have to admit to a small amount of nervousness after as hard as I went down in the crash, but as soon as I got back on the joy hit. :D My shoulder is still pretty sore, but the riding position doesn't seem to make it worse, and the aerobars were even comfortable. :D
I did this ride with one of my Math Profs from school......now that I'm a grad, there can be no worries about impropriety. :D This was her first ride in a long time as well without the kids tagging along, and hasn't been doing much riding at all. "J" and I were shooting for a nice easy, flat 10 miler, but it turned into a 25 miler, more or less (Actually24.2, but who's counting. :)). We fought out toward Battleground, Indiana, pushing a headwind all the way. It was great! Good burn going in the legs and everything. All the way out, we were thinking about the tailwind home.......WRONG! The blasted wind shifted. :P As a result, a tailwind all the way back as well.
Looks like this will be an every Sunday ride, in varying miles and routes for us and her goal is to do the Williamsport loop by the end of Summer......84 miles. :D
I'm sure going to be encouraging "J" to join up....she IS an Athena, after all.
