first new bike

Well I did it today I got tired of looking at craig's list junk and broke down and bought a brand new bike for my birthday I purchased an 08' Specialized Rockhopper Disc 29 yes a 29ER and I went on my first half mile ride (I know its not much but I'm pushing 500 pounds over here) my legs are still burning and I feel great let the fun begin (I'll post some pics later) I thin I'm in love with this bike

Don't burn TOO much!
Your conditioning will improve rapidly. Just don't get too sore so that you can't/won't ride.
A gentle "warm" so to speak.
