3rd Ride Report - I'm a Cyclist

OK - Gang just completed my third ride...This time I fell twice...Is there a Queen of the Dumps Club? (I got that title in Prep school when I fell the most off a horse...). First fall I park in the lot for the Bike Trail- and ride over to the bathroom - boom I fall as I stop. Ok so then I am ready to roll.... I head out on the path - I do think it's a tad hot, but I was on a mission. I was going to joing the Southern Bike Leagues - Women's ride...but with traffic I was a half hour late so I missed the group. So anyway...off I go... Around Mile 10 I have to stop at an intersection of the path and road since there were cars...And I did not see the cars- so It was a sudden stop - and did not release my foot in time...boom! My legs look roughed up a bit... but I guess I will learn...soon I hope. The ride went well. It was tough... It was shady in parts and with my dark glasses it was hard to see... it was hot... but I do want to continue to train and lose weight- but I really wanted to meet people, too. Anyway it was a bit of a tough ride....20.47ish miles...1hr 32min 24 sec including the 2nd fall...I think it was hard because yesterdays ride was where I rode with someone who was quite a character and told stories the whole way. In any case I am very proud of myself... And have pledged not to wegih myself til Monday - but this gotta help! (oh and I did the elliptical for 15 minutes this morning and then one hour of Body Work Class at the gym...Oy Vey!)

Thanks guys for keeping me pumped and excited...

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

great job on your club riding..
PLEASE stay alert for cars they are uncounsiuly trying t kill you most of the time. The rest of the time it is a consciounce decision.

dont look at your tire head up eyes out. it's hard when you are tired.

One thing you must learn on a bike is to scope out everything while approaching an intersection, and I mean everything! Even while approaching shopping center driveways, I study the drive's eyes and make sure they see me before riding in front of the car.

I have a hard time understanding some friends that don't take a second to look. Oh well, 12 years and I'm still in one piece!

You're doing great! 3rd ride and 20 miles. Heck, you'll be doing a century in a month or two!
