4th Ride Report - Hills

OK - so off I went to Stone Mountain... There's a bike path around the mountain and roads..So I figured pretty safe. I knew it would have hills...but my goodness... It was a trip! I had a mantra form a training workout I listen to for the elliptical. I think the guy who says it is annoying...and hear I was saying it up those looooooooooooooong hills.... "You can Feel it, You can taste it, You are Right there!" Anyway Up I went..and i went around twice...

10 Mile 50 min 44 sec ( And I stopped between rounds for about 4-5 minutes).

Anyway thanks guys for your support. This ride was like taking a spinning class - and not cheating.
I will go log these rides in a journal...Are you guys sick of my ride reports??? Is there a limit?

Never sick of ride reports. However I've noticed a dire lack of pictures.

Pictures...

OK Here's the pics...I added one of me in street clothes- cause really I am kind of cute- a tad heavy..but in the bike outfit...oh dear. I think I learned that when wearing a camelback - do not wear the strap too tight. Anyway - I am sooooo looking forward to becoming a gorgeous cycilist. But here I am in all my glory. And ofcourse here's my bike- she's gorgeous!

The Bike...Specialized Dolce EliteThe Bike.JPG
The bike on the car - a major victory - I am soooo self sufficeint..Ok I still need my fellow bikers to show me the ropes...yesterday they helped me with the chain getting back on..But look I can put the bike rack and bike on the car!6 1 08 - Silver Comet - Ride 1 - Before Ride.JPG

Cool! Glad you considered it, you'll enjoy it! I've invited so many friends to join. Now they are all killing me in the mileage department!...But I like it!

I'm glad that you had a nice ride. Lovely place to ride. I also pick out places to ride that let me see the natural landscape, plants, critters, etc. I like the bike too (I have a new Allez Elite, and like it as well). Riding outside is a lot more rewarding to me as well. You actually GO SOMEWHERE, and see things, and cover real ground. It is much easier to lay back in a gym spin class, for sure.

Have fun out there!

(really bike shorts and a top tight tennis top)... Yikes. Please note I have since received my biking shirt in the email and am a whole lot cuter!)

Oh stop it already! You're already a gorgeous cyclist! Nothing sexier than seeing a girly getting out there and mixing it up on the bike!

As far as the tennis top, I like 'em more on the bike than a jersey or cycling top. My wife wears 'em and I'm real happy!...I'm sure I'm not the only one!

And that bike? Wow Specialized has done well with that! Haven't seen Specialized bikes in a while but that is one sweet sexy looking machine! The tubing, color and cf stays look VEEEEERY NICE!

I rode out to Stoned MTN on Saturday; I left the Roswell area at 11am and did not make it back till past 8:30pm...I took the See Nick route! When I got to the park I did two of the longer loops around the rock then met up with some of my teammates (by surprise) outside the park for some more fun in the sun! I'm off to do the Avondale Pizza ride and that one does two long loops around the rock but since I did a spin class at lunch and feeling a bit on the toast side I plan to only do one loop with the group then meet them outside the park for the ride back into town. Keep up with the ride reports and more importantly make sure you keep a log of how you felt, the duration etc. Any ride is a good ride so try and stay consistent and smile even when it hurts.

Hope you don't mind I'll throw in my report since it's hills and only my fourth ride too!
26 miles with some climbing. Saw some steep streets so I climbed them for kicks. Well that and trying to get back into shape!...Beauty of a day. Sunny but not hot and a strong breeze.

About half way down one of the steep streets

I came from down there somewhere!

Beans- Sounds like a good ride! I think I might faint.

Scott- Cool you are in my neighborhood. I think i saw the SBL crew today - but I missed the ride by a half hour. I live aways away and it was a long haul to Stone Mtn. I did the North Lake Mall to Stone Mtn Loop on ride 2 I believe...with an SBL ride - ok only 2 of us showed....Hope youhave fun tonight... At some point we will pass on our happy biking roads... I'm the cute one on the white/pink Specialized...

And the mantra - is from www.itrain.com and the workout is iClimb (Set 3) it may be a podcast too aguy named Keith Irais.ltells me how fast and hard to go on the elliptical.. I do a 40 minute workout kick's my butt.

OK gang - must run..... Have fun on the road...and drink lots of water.
