OK Clydes, Post Up Those Medals!
I have a few hanging on 'Dusty ol Lamp' display! One is a first one hundred medal and the rest completion medals for various organized centuries. Also had about 10 T-shirts from other rides, but wore them suckers out! A couple of do-rags, a towel, patches and a rag/hanky.
Whatcha got?

No, it's just a blurry picture. It's spelled correctly, just hard to read.
Here's a little better pic

I got all sorts of stuff, all kinds of pins, patches, even a few medals. So what? What matters today is how I ride now... all those pins and medals and now I ride like a newbie.

Besides, it was you that said in the hill thread that you "Like to attack on the hills". That's not riding like a newbie!

GReat job. I did my first STP this year. (2 day), I have been talking about doing the one day next year. I really am not sure I am going to do it. I didn't see many people my size (260) or larger on the ride.
I averaged 14.2 mph. the stops slowed me down but I still held pretty close to my plan. Came in at 2:10 on Sunday. The heat really killed me.

You didn't see me or Daveyboy out there, then. I'm 6'6", 240 pounds, and I think Davey looked even bigger than me. (Couldn't tell, since I only saw him as he was zipping past me!) Check out Beanz, too. None of us are exactly the svelte VeloNews cover photo types, but we're out there doing the distance and the hills.

Sorry to have to be the one that breaks the news to you, Beanz.
Here's a pic of me (left) and keithm0 about 5 miles into the Flying Wheels Summer Century. We saw this sign and had to stop for a picture. It's like they knew we were going to be there...

OK well not exactly a newbie but not the same level and intensity as before (all my medical problems are catching up with me). But I'll get back there. Back to doing my hilly route twice a week. I don't mind grinding up hills, gives me an excuse for going slow!

Of course, cycling for so many years is a cycle of it's own!...I know some great riders that have had medical issues. At one point couldn't ride a lick due to medicals. You would have never thought they rode at all. But a year later, they're out there killing everybody on the climbs!
Like now, I'm 30 lbs heavier than when I ride well. What the heck? I have no medicals, mine is called Ben and Jerry's!
It's a cycle. Some day I'll wake up and want to push again! For now, I'm having fun with Gina!

hey clifton or keithm0... what kind of bike is that ( the non surly)?
no offense to anyone but normally the clyde crew ride lower end mountain bikes but yours looks nice (they don't put Fox on low end bikes), between the spd pedals and camelbak, i am wondering if you actually ride some trails.
I like that contrast between the bike and those wheels. never seen them that skinny on a bike like that
