Went by Gymn An tried a Stationary Bike

HI,
My local Gym had some farily nice spinner bikes that have weighted wheels. I jumped on one today after the Nautilus and Wow it was really nice took me a min or two set it up seat height M seatback 5 1/2in, and that handle bar height was about the same as the seat also nice no chaffing .
, I need a fan blowing on me though after about 20 mins I was sweating pretty good.
It really seems easy to hold a decent cadance I tried to stay over 100, with mod resistance.
I walked a little funny after that . SO if the weathers in the toilet, I can at least cool down with a few miles at the Gym/. Now I want a nice crossover bike after that smooth ride.. the mountian bike is a little rough and tough, for this clyde, I may go to thinner faster harder wheel like 1 1/2 if it will fit my wheel rim..

How about the garage?

We have a bit of a windy day today, enough to close the schools. Got on the old trainer yesterday evening and nearly drowned in sweat. Road long enough to get to the island of King Kong. The fun part was that I woke to up the scale being below 211. First time I have seen the number in a long, long time.

Had to go to VA Beach for a technician's class and was hating the thought of being off my bike for a week. Found out there was a gym with stationary bikes at the hotel so I figured I'd at least do some miles that way. NEVER AGAIN!!! I don't know how anyone can log any miles pedaling and not going somewhere. I was so bored after the first twenty minutes I never went back.

I'm glad someone can do it, just isn't right for me.

Stick the stationary bike in front of a big screen TV and run your favorite "mindless action/war movies" or anything else thats fast-paced enough to draw your attention to it :-)

Worked for me at least

I have a fondness and owe a little gratitude to Spinner bikes. I actually bought my bike after going to Spinning classes.

I had only rode a x-mart "mountain" bike on campus in 04-05 for commuting and the effort required to keep that POS rolling made it a chore. Nothing like what I remembered from my childhood where I had a hand-me-down Motobecane that I rode hundreds of miles a month.

Then, I tried one of those gym Lifetime Fitness psuedo-bikes at the gym and that was hell on earth. Short cranks, bizarre resistance, no realistic flywheel effect.

Anyway, I started going to Spinning classes with a co-worker and really enjoyed the challenge and the ride was like I remembered it as a kid! That is when I decided to check into quality bikes.

I went to several LBS's and finally ended up at the Trek Store here in the dirty 'nati and taking one home. Awesome. Can't wait for next year when my son will be just a little bigger to ride a TAB with me. Then I will get my wife a bike too.

With all that said, I don't think I could get on even a Spinner outside of a group class enviro. It would bore me to death.
