Tough ride and I dropped a skinny

I went for a challenging ride today 25 miles 2 sections with a headwind and 2 hilly sections. Made a decent time @ 1h 38mons considering I stopped @ the inlaws house to get mail and stopped halfway to see how the wife is doing(shes recovering from surgery and is a bit immobile. I feel guilty if I leave for too long w/o checking in.)

On the last 3 miles of the ride I noticed a roadie taking it easy riding hands free. I'm tired riding about 17 to 19mph about a mile before the end of the path the roadie zips past me. Normally this doesn't bother me especially at the end of a ride; but today was different I busted my chubby ass today and this guy had my rig except totally blinged out with race xlites and the full dura ace group.

He went ahead of me about 25 30 yards. I click up one gear to geth the spin a little looser and start gaining back some distance. He doesent even notice me till i pass him drop 2 gears to get a little more speed and he starts making his move. Too late last 1/4 mile of path too many peds to race wooo hooo A cheap victory but a victory none the less.

This supports one of my core beliefs. If two bikes are going in the same direction, they are racing. Whether they know it or not!

Did the roadie say or do anything?

No he didn't say anything although I did get a dirty look when I looked back to see where he was; we parted at the split. I'm no fool my gas was low and this guy was a reg I see all the time he's going to smoke me next time he sees me.
