On my commute yesterday
Couldn't ask for better, no wind, beautiful weather, great views.... everything was awsome..... Except for on detail
A BEE STUNG ME IN THE HEAD!!!! man that caught me off guard, now I understand what is meant by a STING!!! Lucky for me I had no reaction, but it was scary as my mom is deathly allergic to bee/wasp stings.

I wear a cap under my helmet, even on the hottest of days, specifically for this reason. I got stung on the head last year and vowed to never again have that happen.
(Yes, I realize a stinger can go right through a cycling cap, but it's a mild layer of protection which makes me feel safer.)

About 3 yearss ago I was stung about 4 times in 3 months. I posted a thread in a health forum, turns out they are attracted to deodorant soaps. I quit showering before rides and haven't been stung since. Of course I smell pretty bad now!
On one ride I was pushing the pace with a couple of friends. A bee hit my helmet so I thought I was clear. Turns out it was taking a stroll along my helmet strap. Stung me on the neck, guys I was riding with wouldn't slow for nothing. I continued as I thought I had removed the stinger. WRONG!
At the rest stop I found a dried up crispy stinger in my neck. Now I'm sure it got me good! Swelled downt my neck an into the chest area. soft poison bag type of swelling. Went to the pharmacy that night and asked the counter gal. Suggested 1% hyrdocortisone. I used it and the swelling was gone by the next morning. I keep a tube handy!

I have not thought about this in years. I used to get stung at least once per year when I lived in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Florida. There just are not that many bees here in Colorado, I guess. Too dry?
Now, gnats are another matter. I get a face-fulls, and often mouths-full, of gnats when passing local farming irrigation canals on a regular basis whenever it stays above freezing for a couple of days in a row. The little green ones taste rather foul.

I have yet to have that one happen to me while on a bicycle. Still too new I guess. Now, on a motorcycle..... several times. Nothing like an angry bee stuck between your helmet and your ear to make for an intersting ride.

How about getting hit by a deer on a motorcycle - not to hit a deer, but to have a deer jump right on the front fork of the motorcycle?

I was stung in the stomach a week ago. Hurt for a couple of days. I think it was a wasp.

Try having a shaved head and getting one of those little bugger under your helmet. The little S.O.B. stung me four times before I was able to get stopped and throw my helmet off. That completely sucked!! Buddy riding behind me thought it was the funniest thing in the world. If I look at from his prospective I'd have to agree. Then I told him he'll get his eventually. Then I revel in his pain. Wha haha.
