I dropped 8 pounds in September. I also exceeded my mileage and climbing goals. We'll see how October goes. I'd like to keep the weight loss up for a while yet. Still have 10 or 15 pounds to go.

Weight is down, and smack on track (Lost an average of 3 pounds/week all month) to meet my "Christmas present" goal. Riding, I rode over 600 miles during the month, so that was good.

Overall, great month. I'm looking forward to October, and being ever closer to having a "2" in front of my weight...

September I got 47 miles in. A measly 47 miles!
Short version why:
Bike stolen in the beginning of September
Then my neighborhood flooded and my basement took on 7ft of water during that time. Now 2 weeks later I have at least power back in the house, but no gas for hot water or cooking. The basement is being completely gutted right now. Used to be a nice finished basement with wooden paneling.

No time for biking.

My weight has been up and down, but hasn't exceeded where i started. Still getting used to being hungry more often.
I got 64 miles in on the bike in less than 3 weeks, which isn't too bad for just getting started.

We'll find out at the weightwatchers meeting tomorrow how I did for the month.

I met my goals. I put 1000 miles on the bike in the 3 months I've owned it (probably 450 of them in September) and I'm down under 160lbs (157 to be exact). Maybe by the end of November I'll be under 150.

I've done a decent job of maintaining my weight through September after dropping some weight in late August. Now I'm setting myself a goal to lose another 5 lbs. in October, which would bring my weight below 225 lbs, and within very close reach of putting my BMI under 30 (the definition of obesity). Looking forward to the challenge!

Was that flooding from IKE?
Had the flooding, no hot water problem when staying in Beech Grove with my brother back in June.
Yuck.

first month

September was my first month in the saddle having not ridden a bike for about 20 years.
Completed approx 400 miles and now commute 14 mile round trip 4 days a week.
Slightly disappointed by no weight loss despite reducing intake and also I don't seem to
have improved greatly on my fitness level. But I'm enjoying it o I'll keep going and see what happens

Yeah.. I think the rain came from the left overs of Ike. It rained for two days straight. And then the water came.

completed my first metric century 64.2 miles. This more than doubled my previous longest ride of 31mi. Very slow though - 6hrs including a lunch break, bike shop browsing, and many stretch breaks. Knees feel better and legs/back are loosening up.
Will be weekend rides from now on since it kicked my butt (literally) and I had to ride back to work that night.

September went pretty poorly
523.75 miles for the month.
Weight about the same if not higher.
I feel like I'm towing a boat anchor when i'm riding lately.

Broken some spokes on my backup wheel and kinked the rim so it won't go round. Spokes tore up the rear rim on my supposed good set of wheels after about two thousand miles. Hopefully when I get my new set of hand built wheels I'll get some confidence back and be able to rack on some miles. Probably take a few rides to get comfortable they aren't going to fail even though it is a really highly recommended local wheel builder from a bunch of fellow recumbent randonneurs.

Went down and watched the first night of the texas time trials. I'd probably have ridden the 6 or 12 hour if I hadn't had wheel trouble but i was nice to go down and see some folks I know who actually have some speed ride. Unfortunately reinforced that I really can't ride with these folks I'm just too slow and I don't want to be an anchor regardless of if they mind or not.

About 600 miles. Not as many as I wanted, because I'm working up to a couple century rides in October. But my commuting speed is waaaay up. When I don't have time for the miles, I substitute by riding hard. Not sure if it's better or worse for the centuries. The hills are looking smaller, though.

September= 19 rides for 382 miles for me. Just crossed 1000 mi. since starting biking in late June. My weight is down from north of 250 to about 235 and I am getting much stronger as a rider. What fun!

i wish i had time...

Sept was ok. On track and at 1800 for the year. Goal is same as last year (2250) or 2500 as a stretch. Unfortunately, work keeps getting in the way.

350ish miles, weight is bouncing between 203 and 204. Those last 5 pounds have been very stubborn.

120 miles until I reach my yearly goal.

WOW _ AWESOME!!!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY>>It must feel so incredible to have that weight loss. I know you are not at your goal - but It must be unbeliveable each day and have that weight gone. FREEDOM!! I do feel that - lost less than you about 38 pounds...b ut feel liek I fit into normal clothes- in fact I look in the mirror - and really feel like I look good and attractive. Ok so we do this for a ton of reasons...but vanity is definitely up there for me. It is a HUGE relief not to be so heavy any more. So I think you are terriffic!! And I hope you are very very proud of what you are accomplishing. (Come on over to out Biggest loser Thread and inspire the team - like a guest speaker... )
