Yuck! Ugly Dark Day and Ride!
With the threat of rain, Gina decided not to take the chance of getting soaked. So I rode from home. Dark cold breezy day. No that bad really! Cool was good after the heat we've been having. Headed up 13 miles then back for antother 13, 26 total.
Figures the drizzle would hold off till the last couple of miles. Always that way, isn't it?
Top of Daycreek and small stretch of Etiwanda Ave.(?) in Rancho Cucamonga/13 mile turnaround

I've got a ride planed this morning and its 31F right now an hour away from time to leave.
I put my panniers on so I can stash all the cloths I won't need once the sun comes through.

It was sunny and calm when I left but when I hit mile 10, the clouds were coming up and the wind picked up, so I decided to turn around for home. Probably a good thing, as I was about 3 miles from home the wind moved me about 2 feet sideways on the highway. Good thing the traffic wasn't moving around me. It is getting worse, so I am glad I made it only a 20 mile, instead of my planned 40. I will do something else later to get the exercise.

Ditched ride plans yesterday when the winds hit sustained 25mph with 40mph gusts and rode this morning instead.
20 miles of dodging around blown-down branches, 2500' of climbing. Light breeze, no rain, and about 50 degrees. Not bad, with the exception of the branches.

Those roads look nice and deserted, well maintained too. I was going to head up to Lake Geneva but the forecast showed rain both there and here in Chicago, so far no rain here. At least I got a short ride in this morning to the gym and back before it got gloomy out.
