leg warmer sizes?

I want some leg warmers but no one carries them locally. I see sizes like 20,21,22... what does that mean. I assume I should get the XL just because that is the shorts I get.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Not sure but maybe the 20, 21 is the thigh diameter? I used XL, they were just right. I'm 6'1 240 with 24 inch thighs. They do stretch. I would think baggie is not good. I used them for 5 years and they were a cheap brand given to me.

This year I did finally break down and bought the PI tights(pants). Work nice, no slipping down like leg warmers.

I've seen leg warmers for 20,30,40 bucks. I picked up the tights for $60, so not a bad price for good stuff!

Why leg warmers and not just get pants or are we talking the same thing?

Sometimes it is nice to have leg warmers over pants though.

Where I live it can be cold in the morning and then warm up an hour or two later. It is nice to be able to take the warmers off just be wearing shorts if it does actually warm up.

I wear bicycle shorts with the pants over the top, in case it warms up and I need to remove a layer. That is just my way of doing things.

I prefer to use un-padded tights over my padded shorts, and/or gore-tex type rain pants when it is really cold or wet/snowing. I prefer tights between 35F and 50F (just wear shorts when it is warmer than 50F),the rain pants over shorts when it is dry and between 20F and 35F, and tights and maybe other base layers under the rain pants when it is colder than that.

The rain pants cut wind better than regular tights, and I like them better than wind-block and really thick cold-weather tights. I get them a size or two too big, so that I can fit more layers under them for when it gets below 10F.

At REI. I rarely buy anything from them cause I think most is overpriced. But they did have a big sale on all Pearl Izumi stuff. I posted it a few weeks ago when I bought them. I only go into REI when I'm bored. Just to look around or stop in after dinner with my girlfriend!
