Work out at least 5 days. Run at least 2 of those. Get in a long ride on what is likely to be the last manageable weekend of the year (not a fitness goal, just haven't had time, and am missing the peace of long rides). Shoot for losing 2 pounds.

Goals for the week, same as last week except for the weight.
1) Current Weight: 258, Goal Weight: 256.5
2) Go to the gym twice
3) 20 miles on the bike
4) Cut smoking to 6-7 per day.

Here's hoping for two weeks in a row of loss. I am tired of the up-down rollercoaster. I just need to get my head into it, and make sure that I do what I say I will. Good news is that the wife is busy at school this week so I will have plenty of free time without feeling like I'm abandoning her.

Good luck everyone. I will also start using this thread as a countdown to me completing my Bachelor's. Right now I have 5 weeks to go, and believe you me, I am ready for it to be over.

My plan is to drop another pound. And to ride more.

Today I'm taking my 7yo son out for a 20mi spin and then lunch. I think he'll enjoy it.

Same as last week (hopefully more successful than the last 3 weeks)

1) lose something- lose at least 1 pound
2) Move something - Exercise at least once (preferably on a bike)
3) spend time with someone - Get outside and be active with family( swim, walk or ride with family)
4) Finish something - insulate crawlspace, and finish another work project.

I've spent the last two weeks at the same weight so I need to be stricter about my food intake. I also have to spend at least a couple hours a day exercising -- preferably cycling if it's not snowing (it's snowing right now), but also swimming, and heading to the gym.

So this week:
1) Lose 4 lbs
2) List the food I eat
3) Drink water, cut out coffee
4) Avoid sweets like it's covered with bugs

Primary goal is to stay on track with the 1.3-1.5lb per week loss by "obeying" my daily plate calorie allowance. This may be more difficult this week due to birthdays.

I really ought to drink more water, do more wii fit, and ride for longer distances (provided the gale-force winds settle). They're not really goals, because if they were I would probably be setting myself up for failure, hah.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I've lost 4 inches from my (natural/navel) waist since we started this. Weight loss aside, I'm quite happy about that alone.

Love the goal!! Also remember you can have the sweets -just not today. So think about it as just one day at a time. So if your goal this week isnot to have sweets- really focus on what you will have ...and if a sweet get's in your way - just tell it tomorrow I may eat you....today I am not going there!
Sorry iuf this is a bit too sloganish for you..it really does help me!

Hey HAWG welcome to our lvoely thread. I'd be interested in hearing what becoming a better biker means to you. To me it means spinning faster - and hopefully that will translate to having an easier tilme of the hills. I am really at the basics....Ideally I would like to go faster too.

Hey Imeridian as i am summarizing goals i have come to yours and wonder if we could not have these be more positive! Cause I know you can do it. The only failure here -is failing to show up each week. (and if that happens- Come on back!) We are certainly going to fall short of our goals at times...so why not put em out there:

Whaddya think of the following?
(1) Eat healthy and inline with my daily plate calorie allowance. (2) Drink more water (3) 1 Day of WII Fit
(4) Increase ride distance

I know you can do it!! Do these sound more positive??? Jeesh I need to drink a ton more water - just reminded me!! Whatever helps you!!

Well I havent been riding long so I am still a little wobbly at times. Uncomfortable reaching down to shift or changing positions. Because of this I am limited to riding on my college campus, or in park near my Apartment. Becoming better with shifting and keeping my momentum on the hills is also a goal. I also want to be able to keep up a decent pace, with less coasting. I also think starting to eat better is part of being a better biker. That is very difficult when you eat at a College Dining hall. Im just going to have to be really determined.

Weight loss goals will come in a week or two. Sorry if I didnt follow the guidelines properly.

Hi all,

I'm going to stick with the same goals I've had since the start:
-Lose @ 1 lb a week
-Ride 35 miles comfortably in prep for the 11/22 short event of the El Tour
-Do 3 exercise sessions. I'm going to the community center one day this week and I'll probably do videos the other 2 days.

After the tour I may re-evaluate the biking part of the goal. One possiblity is to ride to the Saguaro Nat'l Park (8 miles) do the scenic loop (8 miles of hills) and ride home (8 miles downhill! ). The loop is pretty challenging. I used to ride it years ago before VF (Valley Fever). Hopefully I've got enough lung capacity back to do it again.

Let's see what will my goals be this week. Pretty much the same goals as always.
No cookies, or potato chips like last week.

Lose 2 lbs., and get back to 174.

I like this idea too. It won't sound like I'm being mean to myself. I'm also trying the old shopping trick of walking away from the purchase for at least half an hour. I may forget by the time 30 minutes is up. I'll try any how!!

Today I was successful. I did not have a single sweet all day. I did finish off the pickles.
