Ride 58 - Silver Comet - Warmer..

OK - Just a quickie. Met a woman at a bike store (manager) and joined her and a friend for a ride on the Comet. It was interesting riding with strangers. We rode aboiut 9 miles before my new friend had to turn back as she was not feeling well. I felt bad - she insisted we go on. Her companion and another man we met on the way rode on and had a nice ride. They are convincing me to go on BRAG this year - so I am seriously considering BRAG (Bike Rode Across Georgia) this summer).

Anyhoo it was much warmer today - and good exercise. So I am grateful to be back on the ride!

Hope everyone had nice rides today!!

Sue
Ride Dist 41.57
Ride Time: 3:05:44
Avg Pulse 109 (Think the HRM was acting up!)
Calories1383 (Again not sure this is not understated)
Cad Avg 77 (Love to get this up!)

OK - See you on the road! The Bee

Avg Speed 13.4 (FAster on way back then on way out)

Is the Bee back in the Southland, or still up in the Windy City?

I have a friend who has been pushing me to ride BRAG for years. (Yes, years - he first suggested it back when I was still learning to balance!) Perhaps 2009 is the year.

Do residents of the Gate City still get upset when Yankees come into town?

So as our Historian...what is the Gate City?? I assume you mean Atlanta. No people are really friendly. No issues with being a northerner...or female...or my religion.... things have come a long way!

Do come to BRAG!! It would be great fun to meet you as well as any other wonderful Bike Forum readers/posters!!! Today I was convinced to use a Tent on Brag as opposed to staying in the gym. Also will liekly engage Bubba's tent Serrvice to set up my stuff each day. I think that will be cool... He gets a good spot, sets it up and transports your stuff. Otherwise you bring all your stuff to the BRAG truck - and it may be further away and not as easy to find etc. Plus you just leave your tent each day and Bubba takes it down and sets it up. For you that would be a big pampering indeed since you usually set your own tent up....

EDIT: It's official I signed up!

Atlanta is the Gate City. It's an old term going back to the 19th century. Because of the large number of railroads traveling through the city, Atlanta was considered the 'gate' to the South.

I'll have to see about working BRAG into my schedule. I'd be delighted to meet you, and ride with you for sixty second before you drop me.
