Seriously, thanksgiving is once a year, just enjoy it. Think about diet and exercise the other days.

For me, way scaled back goals this week, in travel 2 full days, cooking 2 full days (gotta feed 30). 3 days at the gym, gain no more than one pound.

I've decided to gracefully (if that's possible) bow out of the contest. Having to pay attention to the scale has not been healthy for me mentally. This has been a great way for me to learn about goal setting though and I appreciate Miss Bumble and the others who have kept the threads and spreadsheets going! Good luck to everyone on reaching both short term and long term goals!

Goals for the week, same as last week except for the weight.
1) Current Weight: 254.5, Goal Weight: 253
2) Commute to Work 1 day this week.
3) 10 miles on the bike
4) Cut smoking to 6-7 per day.

I'm not going to let Thanksgiving be an excuse to let myself go. I will definitely eat on Thursday, but I'll just have to work a little bit harder to ensure a loss this week.

Good luck to everyone, and have a happy thanksgiving.

Goals - Well lately I have had a hard time with Compulsive Eating! Being at home the weekends has been tough...Now it seems I do better onthe road in an apartment with no food. Here, I can overeat on fruit! So today's goal:

Do new itread workout (Itrain.com for 60 minutes) Even if they include a cool down I will pause the hting and make sure I work for all 60 minutes. Should be very hard!!! MAkes my niking seem easy . I am looking forward to trying the new workout. My older workout is 4 minutes... so here goes!

Other goals for my at home day:

1) Be kind to myself and others
2) Drink a lot of water - 64 ounces excluding what I have at the gym (BIG GOAl water is tough for me)
3) Clean apartment so it's beautiful when I come home from trip to FLA for Turkey Day - I leave tomorrow
4) No food/or diet hpot chocolaote or anything yummy after dinner. Choose one dessert (2 tangerines) and then STOP Eating. (OOPS wait be kind.... then gently stop eating)

OK rest of the weeks goALs will be posted later!

Thanksgiving is coming, so that defines part of my goals this week.

At least 2 days during the week either trainer or road.
Get out and walk the pup at least once this week.
Resist temptation to overeat on Thursday! This will be a toughie for me.
Maintain my weight or drop a pound. Either of these will be fine, considering the holiday.

248! Down from 255 last week. I'm not too excited, because I've been through this before, and I know the first 5-10 lbs comes off easiest. Still, this is honest weight loss through cycling and portion control, not a low-carbo quick loss.

I'm off riding to my dentist now, about 2 miles away. I only have to work one day out of the next 9 days, so lots of cycling in front of me.

Oh, and turkey is good for you!

Thanks for starting this thread. My wife is very happy that I'm back on my bikes, (and cleaning the garage so I can get at them)!

Yeah! We have new members! That's cool! I hope everyone has a successful week (and have fun on Thanksgiving)!

Now down to the nitty gritty:
1) Drink water
2) Lose 4 lbs
3) Go to the gym 4 times this week
4) If the snow is a figment of the weatherman's imagination then go riding
5) Practice push-ups (yeeesh)

Hmmmm, goals might be a challenge this holiday week, but I'll give it a go.
Avoid a 4000 + calorie day on Thanksgiving.
4 Spinerval sessions (1 scheduled for T-Day evening)
Lose 2 lbs., and try to get under 170
I slipped up on my water drinking last week, so I'm going to get that back on track (64 ounces or more daily).
Keep my regular portions in check, and eat home prepared meals.
Last, but not least: Turn 47 y. o. on Wednesday (NO CAKE)

Good luck all,

Denny

Hey, I just noticed that the week 1 numbers are missing from the spreadsheet. That'll skew the totals.

They are there Joel. Dorsal just hides the columns, so the sheet can be read easier. If you look at the top you'll notice a bunch of letters missing, and it goes from A B C to M.

Hey Denny - Can we restate the golas into a positive statement... Hmmm let's see Enjoy Thanksgving for the people I am with and be less focused on the food??? Or perhaps to take a walk during desert. Still have some but to have another focus as well... I think focusing on avoiding something may not be ideal. Just the Bee's 2 cents. OR maybe even add a water goal for Turkey Day - Drink 72 oz of water on Thanksgiving (less room for the food) > OK maybe that info is all good stuff for the Bee... Will psot my goals next.

Goals for this week:

1) Lose @ 1 lb.
2) Explore some local bike paths and not concern myself with miles now that the tour is over
3) Hmmm....maybe one more week of Firm exercise videos. Am going to look for some new dvds or use my cardiocoach / itrain audio workouts.
4) Give thanks on Thanksgiving and on all other days as well.
