8 more miles - Im getting faster!!

Being it's december, I didn't really put any distance goals out there, because I didn't know what to expect for the weather. I won't ride in icy conditions or commute to work when it starts colder than 29 degrees. Obviously this limits my riding, but safety and health are important to me, my ability to go to work is key with the wedding in the fall.

Yesterday, we had a mid 40s day that started dry. So by mid-afternoon I was ready to HTFU for a while, so I got in the cold gear (Tights, shorts, UA base layer, windbreaker, balaclava and gloves) and headed out. I have all my newly acquired "commuting gear" that were christmas presents from the fiancee on the bike, so I stuck a few things in the trunkbag to see how much it might slow me down. (I'll get pictures up tonight)

I put the route on bikely (its technically 7.75 miles): http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/231024

The part that doesn't show up is that there is a ginormous hill in the first mile.

Anyways, the good news: I did this route in less than 45 minutes, which includes several traffic stops. I am DEFINITELY getting faster. I need a GPS to really feel like i know the speed though.

Congrats!! It is addicting, isn't it?? You don't NEED a gps, go get a cheapie wired cyclocomputer. Wally World has 'em for ten bucks.

+1 on the Wally world computer. It will do all you need. Heck, The LBS has them for no more than $20 if you want a basic Cat Eye.

This winter stuff needs to go away and let in some Spring stuff..........................

The problem I had with the wireless was that it kept not working. are the wireds more reliable?
because it seemed like it was between the sensor and the magnet, but i never really thought about it being the wireless.

And heres all my christmas presents on the early xmas present bike ive been riding for a few weeks.
