Take a look at the Spynergy DVD's. They have work outs like sprinting, intervals, cadence, etc. It beats just sitting there and pedaling. Another idea is to get copies of actual races and try and race with them.
Audio Books to listen to while riding are good, and so are good action flicks with lot's of gratuitous explosions to watch while spinning.
Once while on a six month deployment while in the Navy I rode an excercise bike across the US. I picked a route and marked off my mileage every day on a map until I finished. Changing resistance settings/gearing helps simulate terrain changes.
Forgive my lack of awareness, but where is Hewit? I feel like I should, or do, know where it is, but I can't place it at the moment.
