Dropped Hard by a FEMALE Roadie. Hey, That's Fellow BF'er Condorita!

Well today was the day that COndorita was to try out the Bianchi. I swapped the stem with a Terry and the saddle with a comfort saddle I had laying around, then added some lube. I didn't really think that she would like the bike since she has really enjoyed her comfort bike. Switching to a roadie just isn't in the cards for some. But we did the best we could to size it with what we had. I was thinking 2 miles into the ride an she'll say she didn't care for it and head back. I WAS WRONG!

We hopped on the trail and more than 2 minutes, Gina and I were far behind! Check out the picture, wasn't long before we were behind about a hundred yards!..Then I started to think that maybe she did like it, I was hoping. We headed into the wind as we lost sight of her. After heading hin her direction we ran into another BF'er, Insidious Meme from the SoCal forum. We ended up running into Condorita a few miles later at one of the wooden bridges. I'm thinking that she must have stopped to take a pic as she was far ahead. SO we rode together for another mile or so then stopped for a chat. She seemed to liek the bike and told me of her plans to change the drop bars. Hands were tingling but I think it takes getting used to, maybe some good gloves, maybe some thicker bar tape? But she says maybe some trekking bars or something like we have on Gina's hybrid. Either way it was great to see her enjoy the bike.

So we head back but I stop at the park for a potty break. She continues and I'm thinking no way will we catch her with the tailwind. But down the road, there she is chatting on the phone. Pfft! Has time to take a break? Weisenheimer!:p..We stop at another park just because when she rolls up. I asked how she rolls, she seemed happy! I'm thinking she might be tryin to thinkup a name for the emerald green Bianchi. Again she drops us but I expect to see her at the end of the ride. I see our turnout but she's nowhwere around. What the....? I look up ahead and see her flying down the road. I think she's keeping it!:D

Not bad, a testride tunrs into a 20 plus miler. Drop bars and all, seemed no problem for her. She might have done an easy 30. I'll wait to see her reply!

Personal bike fitting,LOL!

Awesome!

Nice to see a classic bike find a happy home and stay on the road.

Well done Mr. Beanz

I was taking a nice casual cruise about 16-17 and some dude came up and sucked on my wheel for about 4 miles and never saying a word, but I could hear he was breathing pretty heavy. I asked him to take the drivers seat for a while, he just looked at me and kept wheel sucking, I asked again a mile later, no dice.

I don't drop people too often, my big butt blocks a lot of wind and it takes a lot of power to get moving too much beyond 19 by myself, but I did pick up the pace to about 20 over the last 5 miles and left him behind. I finished the ride and it took me about 20 mins to pack up and head for home. As I was driving out of the trail head, I saw him limping up dripping in sweat all over his brand new Scott Addict R3. I just laughed and waved as I drove off drinking my protein mix.

The fact that this 150 lb guy got dropped by someone on a bike that cost maybe a 1/3 of his and weighs 295 is just funny to me. :p

Rode on down to the bridge at the end of the golf course, then came back to Rampart. Just shy of 28 miles. Still no name for it yet, but these things can take time.

Thank you, Beanz. It has a good home.
