Mission accomplished!:thumb:

I rode about 2000 miles this year, I'll ride 3000 miles next year :D.

I would also like to do about 4 century rides next summer :thumb:.

One of my goals is no new bike gear next year, I overspent this year :o.

Michael

I'm on track. I've completed 20% of my goal. If it would stop snowing, I might ride even more :notamused:.

I've not posted my long term goal for this year yet, but it is to lose 75 lbs. So far I've lost 16.4, so I'm slowly on my way.

My reward for making it is going to be a knew bike for next spring. So expect a "Which Bike" thread from me early next year.

I had not found this forum (in fact, I did not have a rideable bike) at Jan 1.

Here are my long term goals for the year:
1)Lose at least 150 pounds. I am currently about 1/3 of the way there.
2)Ride at least 3000. If I commute the majority of the time, that is easily done. My round trip is 19.2 miles.
3) Complete at least the 45 mile LiveStrong Challenge course. I may want to do the 65 mile route.
4) Upgrade to either full carbon or Ti and train to race next year. Better late than never.

Four peaks:

I'd like to lose weight, gain strength and endurance and all that, but really it's all about 4 peaks.

Ok, having been the one to start this thread, I wanted to make sure my goals were what I wanted them to be.

So here they are:
- Minimum of 1 race per month after January. Whether it's walking, running, or triathlon, it gives me a short term goal to work towards. The first 4 are as follows:
2/15/2009 Last Chance for Boston Half-Marathon
3/8/2009 Arnold Classic 5k Racewalk
4/18/2009 Miami Student Foundation Triathlon
5/2/2009 Capital City Half-Marathon
- Increase my speed per mile:
- walking: down to 12:00/Mi
- Running: "just do it" - My fiancee (1 mile without stopping)
- Riding: sustain 15 MPH for 1 hour mimum
- Swimming - 400 meters under 12 minutes
- Distance
- Walking: Complete a marathon
- Running: Complete a 5k
- Riding: Complete a Century
- Swimming - 800 meters without stopping
- Weight
- Lose 79 pounds by 7/19/09

I think that gives me enough serious goals for the year. I need to break the weight one down, but it will basically be small goals of roughly 10 lbs a month. That's easily doable.

The goals poll gave me the idea to want to update this, So here's the update:

event goals:
Last Chance for Boston 13.1 - Completed.
Arnold Racewalk 5k - Not Completed. Weekend in Atlantic City instead, but I'll do a different 5k this year.
Miami Student Triathlon - Completed.
Capital City 13.1 - Not Completed. Substituted Coffman YMCA Triathlon in it's place because I couldn't afford both.

speed goals:
Walk 12:00/Mi - Haven't worked on this one much, as walking is the easiest part of a tri, so it's been my least trained. I will get on this this month.
Running - Well, I've sprinted the last 50 to 100 yards of both Tri's, but that's all I've done so far. Don't want to ruin my knees running til I get down some more weight.
Riding - I am closing in on averaging 15 MPH. I was in the 14 range for a good bit of the flat part of this weekends Tri.

Distance goals: none met yet

Weight goal: I'm not going to have 79 lbs off by mid-July, but my goal right now is to be under 300 by 7/19, and then lose 20 more by 9/19. I'm a faily svelte guy at 280 LOL.
