What the heck - just ask
First a quick recap of "me." 52 yr, 6'1" and 230lb. Purchased my first bike this past June, six months ago. My riding is for fun and exercise and to this point totally on our local bike paths. I started with a "Comfort Bike," and quickly changed to a little used 20yr old RockHopper ridged frame. I have been thinking about a better bike for road riding and have found a Raleigh Scott Tinley 58cm for sale.
What do you all think? A good path bike for an old fat guy? I know it's not a steel frame and the geometry may be a little racier than I had in mind, but like I said, what do you all think?

I don't know al lthat much about them, but it was originally a Tri bike so it's going to have some serious geometry. My guess is it's a late 80's model as well and that means bonded aluminum.
It may be a bit of a stuff ride, but if it fits and is a good deal, it's a nice bike from what I know of them.

You ought to test ride it first. If it has a race geometry, it's likely to be a bit twitchy. That might not make for a comfortable ride.
