Outdoor riding vs indoor trainer

Just wanted to see how your riding compares: outdoor i'm usually 80-130miles weekly. indoors on a trainer 5-7hrs weekly.

If I can't/don't make my 5 days a week 24 mile r/t commute then I will do about 50-55 mins on the trainer. The trainer is just to boring to do it any longer than that at one sitting. So I guess I end up doing more miles outside than inside.

Outside I usually do 100 - 150 a week.
Inside I avoid unless absolutely necessary. My last trainer ride was 80 miles. My last one before that was almost a year ago.

I think I did 3 spinning classes last year and did a few trainer rides in '01. Other then that I have only been riding outside.

For me January was a good example. 66% of my rides were on a trainer indoors, but on 56% of my miles were on a trainer indoors. I usually do 11-12 miles on the trainer, but 15-20+ outdoors.

I do anywhere from 1 hour a day to a century ride on the rollers in a day. It all depends upon my schedule for the day and what else I am trying to accomplish. I also try to swim, run and lift.

What is wrong though, with doing say 45 minutes on the trainer, then a couple of hours later do another 45 minutes....

I did an hour on the rollers, then back to work for a few hours, then I am going to try and get at least 20 more miles done on the rollers tonight. Swim tomorrow maybe?
