Calculating Your Ideal Weight?

Hey everyone,
As part of my weight loss plans I was keen to now how my body was made up. I went to see someone with a fancy weighing scale that gave me all kinds of numbers.
I'm just trying to work out at the moment what my ideal weight would be? Here are the numbers,
Height 6'1"
Current weight 323lbs
Bone mass 9lbs
Muscle Mass 196lbs
Bodyfat 36.4%
Now from the sites I've looked at, they suggest a body fat of between 18-25% as being healthy, and from 14-17% as being reasonably athletic.
With this in mind, what's my ideal weight if I wanted 18% body fat?

Thanks

Matt

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Medical recommendation: ~189#

Im probably completely off, but I would say if you want the SAME muscle mass you would:
bone mass + muscle mass = weight + 18% = ideal weight
9 + 196 = 205+ 18% (37lb.) = 242lb.

healthmass.com says:
Results:
According to your height of 6' 1" your ideal healthy weight is 170 pounds. Your recommended weight range is between 151 and 189 pounds.
This was calculated using Hamwi formula, a simple formula commonly used by many clinicians.
These are recommended weights. Talk with your doctor about what weight is best for you and before undertaking any new diet or exercise programs.
You can learn more about BMI and see what it is for your current weight by checking out our Body Mass calculator.

healthcentral.com says:
Ideal weight range is 194 - 213.4 lbs. (88.2 - 97 kg.).
You are overweight by 109.6 lbs. (50 kg.).
You may wish to consult with your physician for medical help.

So.....Im confused.

Ideal? That's a highly subjective number. Ask 10 people, you'll get 10 answers. My suggestion is to continue on your current plan and you're weight will stabilize at some point. Take stock then and decide if you want to make changes and lose more weight, or if you're happy there.

When your performance on the bike levels off, you'll be at your correct weight. Don't fixate on weight, focus on the bike. If you take care of the bike, the bike will take care of you.

Most probably you will lose muscle in addition to bodyfat despite weightlifting. Being lighter, you won't need 196# muscle mass just for daily activites / getting around.
