Satrday Ride Pics. Dont like it, dont look!

42 miles. Breezy day but was plenty of fun running into the regulars. Friend Sarah in the yellow, new friends Allen and Tammy. Vince behind Gina on the bike. Guy sitting in the middle of the group is Jeff, A real kickbutt rider that has done the Death Ride. Allen and Tammy are new to road riding, fresh off the hybrids. They did a good pace back with us on the return, about 20 so we were doing pretty well and all were safe riders. Lots of fun and some good laughs!

Guy in the Diso jersey is a forum member introducing his boy to riding. Layd (Julie) in the grey tnktop (red trim) logged about 12000 miles last year.

I pay her to ride with me!

Looks like a great ride. We've had some strong winds here that'll sure give you a workout!

Supe 02-28-09 11:07 PM

Cool ride pics. The women wearing the black shirt - 'Juice ...' looks quite big on her and I suspect would be creating quite a bit of drag as she rides. Perfect if she was going for extra wind resistance.

Man am I jealous of that trail you ride on. That is sweet, but man it must get hot in the summer with no trees

ChiTownCyclist 03-01-09 04:55 AM

Good looking group.

Looks like they're all enjoying the ride.

Upland , Ca. LA area.. From the terrain, I'd thought it'd looked more like Fla.Roadies', looks like Nice bikes.

You read my mind, looks super flat for Cali.

"don't like don't look" -----

Hey Mr. Beanz - you keep your ride report w/ pics coming!

Mr. Beanz 03-01-09 09:43 AM

Thanks for the POSITIVE comments!:D...It is flat, 1000 ft over 50'ish miles. There are big hills on both sides of the trail but it runs along the river so it's between the hills and rather flat.

The lady in black and her hubby are new at riding in a line. You can see that she if pretty far off his wheel. Once she builds some trust, she'll do much better with the aero benefits. Then I'm sure she'll ditch the baggies!:D

Just out of curiosity, did the SART ever get punched through the gap between Yorba Linda and Corona (so you can ride all the way to/through Riverside on paved asphalt)?
I live near the bottom end of the SART, usually just ride up to Anaheim Stadium and back to PCH in the early AM on weekends, but would love to try an all-day, out-and-back ride out to the Inland Empire.

Mr. Beanz 03-01-09 10:01 AM

No, still ends at Greenriver and the 91 (near Jack and the Box). I never go beyond GR on the trail. 60 to the coast and back is plenty for a weekend ride.:D

Herbie53 03-01-09 10:19 AM

Thanks for the pics Mr. B. Good for being able to identify my prey when I come out there. :p

CliftonGK1 03-01-09 10:28 AM

I'm most jealous that you're all wearing shorts and short sleeves. This week is going to be mid 30s and raining for the morning commute, warming up to the mid/upper 40s by midday.

petflunky 03-01-09 12:07 PM

Lucky you. I had to work all day yesterday, so no riding. I get up to day, and it 15 degrees out, and snowing. So much for starting March off on a good note.

Mr. Beanz 03-01-09 12:11 PM

Yeah, really a shocker. It was WARM!...Nice but that just means it may be 100+ next week!:D

jesspal 03-01-09 12:28 PM

In first pic is Gina dishing out your lunch money, or did you lose a bet to her?

Condorita 03-01-09 08:10 PM

I actually got slight sunburns on arms and face on my Age Ride today on SGRT. So, yeah, gorgeous weather for riding here!!

But the 5-day on my iGoogle homepage is showing rain this week.

1bluetrek 03-01-09 08:28 PM

Cold and wet here :(

dbikingman 03-01-09 09:05 PM

Gina - if you read this I know if you hold out on the rides you could make more then a couple of fives and ones on a ride:)

heckler 03-01-09 09:28 PM

I am very jealous off that weather...I got out today, and was lucky enough to beat the snow :(.

cod.peace 03-01-09 10:34 PM

Sigh. Just when temps hit the 50's last Friday (I biked with shorts, what fun!) we get this tomorrow...

Springtime in New England can be a bit cruel.

Around here, forget snow this year (we had enough to do us for a decade last year), but man, current temp is -15℃ with the wind it feels like -26C for you Americans thats 5℉ and -15F respectively, this is downright mean for March..... Mind you the 7 day forecast says +6℃ for Friday, so go figure....

baron von trail 03-02-09 08:12 AM

Shorts, palm trees, people with tans....I am so jealous!

We have a high of 25 today, low of 10. It never got above 30 all weekend. I rode anyway, with about 8 layers and frozen toes. The Baroness called me a fool. :D

Brando_T. 03-02-09 10:22 AM

another canadian here...I just like seeing pics of people riding bikes in shorts. Seems unthinkable right now.
