Wow - last week was awesome lost 4.5 pounds. Had some time apart from the new beau - and was able to devote myself to my Trainer workouts on the weekend. So now I have ridden my trainer 3 times.. (Bought it a few months ago - but travrel during the week - and ride outside on weekends)

This weeks goals:

(1) Bring Breakfast to work - stop at supermarket on way to apt form airport
(2) Subway for dinners Tues and Wed
(3) Tues - Workout on weight machines
(4) Wed - workout on Bike - 1 hour
(5) Thursday - Workout with weights
Alternate plan - workout at night with weights and in monring with cardio...

(6) drink water - bring bottle to work and refill
(7) Give up Diet Coke - Expensive and bad for you
(8) Gp on a spending diet! Change my way of life regarding spending

OK How is everyone doing??? Where are you guys?? How can we support each other?? PM or post!

I'm down an additional pound, to 285. I want to be 260 or less for my June 13-27 tour from Pittsburgh to Cumberland to Harper's Ferry to DC to Baltimore to York to Lancaster to Home.....

I have to shovel snow now. More later.

I'm down 1.8 lbs in the last week, so that is good. Cold and rainy most of the week so it was hard to get out on the bike. Did get in a few rides though so I feel ok about it. Eating has been horrid this week, with the prep for our wedding on the 21st we have had very little time at home this week and probably in the coming weeks. One step at a time I suppose.

I'm at 304 pounds this week.. My goal is to exercise more this week. I haven't been riding in a couple of weeks, due to work/weather. This week I'm at least exercise, if I can't ride.

^ 10 Wheels...I know that method well! When I moved to Asia I was ok for the first few weeks, then BAM - stomach bug - and lost 6kg in 3 days.

Slow progress this week. Down a few hundred grams to 95.4kg/210.4lb.
Work and weather has stopped me cycling, but still doing other stuff and watching the food.

Will aim to get out on bike before work a couple of times this week.

if you're lucky you got a parasite or tapeworm, why confine the big losses to a single week?

Last week was very bad for me. I set all sorts of dietary goals, and didn't stick to a one. I also wound up skipping the gym all last week. But this week should be a quieter one at work, so I can focus on what's important again.

Sounds liek a good plan. Hey work and life is always going to be bas or up and down at times...so maybe you can think of ways to weather the storm when it comes around again???

There's one good way, but it's not a good time to be job hunting.

ok... i've read through the posts and decided to jump in feet first....

long term goal: go from starting weight of 285 down to ~230 and complete at least three charity rides within the next year (fingers crossed)

progress so far: three weeks in and i'm down from 285 to 278

so far i've completely given up sodas, french fries, onion rings, most pastries and pretty much anything deep fried. i've limited my sugar intake (maybe on piece of candy or other sweet a week), cut back on my daily calories, began taking the stairs instead of the elevator, drinking lots of water (i carry my water bottle almost everywhere now), and i've started eating at home as often as possible.

i've been riding on road at least 15 miles a week for the past three weeks, and i'm about to start going to the gym at least twice a week. i'm also going to try to go mountain biking at least once a week (i love mountain biking, just wish i had more time for it ).

thanks for the inspiration and good luck

You sound like you are psyched and raring to go. Take a look at the best diet tricks thread too.
I started riding in May 2008 and did a bizillion charity rides. If you have the money it's a ton of fun - and great for you (Provided you don't eat a lot of the food...I stuck to my South Beach Bars for many of the rest stops...and some fig newtons too)

Anyhoo glad to have you aboard!! Ride on! rock On!

I am doing Weight Watchers, and have in 6 weeks lost 13.2 pounds. I weigh in on Tuesday evenings.

Each week my goal is to lose 1-2 pounds.

I don't expect to ride this week, but will do some exercise, and eat well to get another 2 pounds off.

Current weight 350.0

Hey all I hope I'm not too late for the party. I started trying to lose weight at the end of January. I started at 231.5 and am currently at 219.5. My loss for this week(Wedesday to Wednesday) was from 221 to 219.5. My goal is to get to 210, I usually plateau around 215. But I started a much better running and biking training plan this year and I hope to make it to my goal. I'd love to get down to 200, but weight loss will take a back seat starting in June to get in racing shape for mtb racing season.

It's good to see like minded people encouraging one another. Great job everyone and keep it up.
