What do you guys use as a fix for sweets?

I like me a homemade smoothie with frozen fruit and either soy milk or orange juice. . .
I am trying to cut out all extra/artificial sugars. So what do you eat/drink to get the fix of sweet most of us still have?

Just about every night I have a cup of decaf coffee and one of those Girardhelli dark chocolate squares. It's not a bid dessert, but eaten slowly it does take care of the craving.

    Homemade frozen yogurt.

    - run 2.5c of organic greek yogurt through a food processor with 1 to 1.5c of loosely packed fruit (berries or anything with high natural sugar content) and 1/4c evaporated cane juice. Process until sugar is mixed smooth and fruit is evenly blended.
    - toss into ice-cream maker for 45 minutes (should give soft-serve consistency)

Yes, I know it's got added sugar. However, it's about 1/4 the amount that is in the chain store varieties (Pinkberry, et.al.) A tablespoon of crushed preserved lemon is a good addition with the berries to help offset the tartness of the yogurt without adding any more sugar.
The other benefit is that you control all the ingredients. The fruit isn't from dried, preservative sprayed, reconstituted with HFCS garbage. The organic yogurt (be sure to check the ingredients) isn't loaded with preservatives and shouldn't have any added sugar.

Instead of sugar I sweeten my stuff with organic agave nectar. Lower glycemic index than sugar.

I've cut out just about all sweets but we all need to reward ourselves so I continue to have ice cream on a daily basis. Half a cup is all I need to keep me satisfied.

One of the most important things to remember! The key to success is consistent reward, not persistant punishment.
I don't remember where I read it, but there was a guy who created something he called "The Guinness Diet", which was a reasonable daily dietary plan and his evening reward was 1 pint of Guinness, only on the days where he met or exceeded his workout goals.

I try to limit my intake of sweets to trail mix and bananas. I'll sometimes add brown sugar to my oatmeal and other porridges, but I usually just add a mashed banana, raisins and cinnamon.

i just use the pre-flavored ones, i know that's not ideal but it's what i have at the moment and it'll be a while before i finish it.
and i don't much care for trail mix, i'd much rather have fresh fruit

I don't mess around with the sissy substitutes!...I been doing really well. I watch everything I eat during the week. One day of the wekend, I will eat icecream. I found this flavor that is great. Strawberry shrotcake icecream, Start Bros. brand. I love them little pices of bread/dough(?)!!!Yumm!

I eat the whole friggin' half gallon container. That seems to satistfy my craving!..A chocolate flavored chapstick or a square of candy here or there won't satsify my need! Sorry, I'm out to satisfy!

Last year I would allow myself ice cream only when I rode. So I would ride and any ride over 10 miles If I wanted it I would stop at the ice cream stand and get a soft serve cone. I lost 40lbs while enjoying ice cream more often then I used to. I agree with the the reward not punish.

The question is, what do you enjoy or crave? Then figure out a reasonable and responsible way to reward yourself with it.

Apple, yellow delicious is my choice, sometimes with a little peanut butter on it.

Or a bowl of Cheerios with a banana cut up in it.

I still have sweets from time to time. Fruit is a great sweet also, but after a long ride, I will sometimes eat a Snickers bar or peanut M&M's. Daily no, weekly maybe.

Grapes. I'm not big on sweets, and when I get a craving they generally do it.

If there is something I really want, though, I'll have it - just 1/4 the "normal" portion size.

Wow! Lots of people are into the good stuff.

Since I never eat refined white sugar, I get all my sweets from fruits. I make ice cream out of forzen bananas and blueberries, snack on dates, and if I must sweeten something, I use agave or honey, but prefer not to.

Now, if I could just get myself to avoid the burgers and fries, I'd be all set.

Instead of sweets, I eat good nutricious food like Zingers, Little Debbie Snacks, cookies, etc.
