Girls With Gears!
I always feel a little awkward registering for this ride, but once again I'm participating in Girls With Gears, a cycling event in Limerick, PA presented by local charity Carol For Heart and my bike shop. This year it's on Sunday, April 19, at 7:00 AM. I signed up for the metric century, but since Limerick is hills, hills, and more hills, I might ride a shorter route. So much for impressing the ladies with my stamina and strength.
Here's me two years ago at the event, when I rode the 5 mile course: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3111/...1125541e_b.jpg And people gathering at the start: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3163/...24aea97e_b.jpg |
Why feel funny about the ride? Ride whatever keeps you riding. If it's riding with girls, for girls, then do it! If it takes busting a lung to enjoy riding, then do it! If it takes stopping to take pics, then do it! Just ride the dern bike! I dunno but I say go the distance and impress the girls!:D...You may get lucky and find one to match your speed and ability. Then you'll be riding centuries together.!...If you can stop the smooching long enough to ride!;)
See the guy in the yellow jacket, center screen? I think you can kick his arse if you put your mind to it!:thumb: |
Hey, good luck neal. I was planning to ride 65 tomorrow, but the wind is suppose to be 20 mph tomorrow so it might be shorter, but if I pass the point of no return, then it will be a 65 miler.

You mean there are rides where I can sign up to follow ladies around on my bike all day and they won't file a restraining order?!:thumb: Sign me up!
:p |
Never feel awkward contributing to a charity sir (unless it's "Satan's baby-slaying freaks for anarchy" or something like that, you be the judge)! Have a wonderful ride. Wish I could be there to go with you! It's 65 degrees and the birds are singing outside right now, so I have to get off this computer and go ride myself!:p
