32 Spoke Velocity Deep V's ok for 250lb clyde?

32 Spoke Velocity Deep V's ok for 250lb clyde?
I'm looking at a set of Deep V road wheels and I've heard 36/32 recommended for clydes. Would a 32/32 likely be reliable for me? I'm 250lbs on my way down to about 220lbs soon. These are wheels as ordered from Velocity, not custom built.

Sheldon brown has said that equal spokes front and back is either a waste of spokes in the front, or not enough spokes in the back. Usual combinations are 32/36, or 28/32.

In answer to your question, yes, however, take them to the shop and have them retensioned

I'm 250 and ride long distance on 32 spoke wheels front and back. I've used:
- Alex DA16 with 14g spokes
- DT RR1.1 with 14g spokes
- Mavic Open Pro with 14/15db spokes
and they've all held up admirably on rough roads, chip seal, even mild sections of hardpack trail and country roadway for rides as long as 215 miles. A properly tensioned 32 spoke wheel will hold up just fine for you; but cohophysh is correct in stating that you should bring your wheels to the LBS and have them properly tensioned before riding.
When I bought my Mavic OP, the first thing I did was put it flat on the floor, press the rim and listen to the chorus of pings pangs and spoings as the machine built wheel settled its spokes. I flipped it and did the same, then popped it on my truing stand and went to work on the loose spokes and got it trued and tensioned to my liking.

About your weight and have over 18,000 miles on a 32 V in the rear and a 28 V up front. But make sure they are proeprly maintained. Maybe a retension after 3 or 400 miles. NOT JUST A TRUE, but retensioned. 2 weeks ago,was the first time in 3 years I've had to touch the wheel with a wrench. Hopefully I'll get anohter 18000 ou tof it since it was only an itty bitty sligh little wee bit out of true!

if i were you i'd spend a few bucks and have my LBS make sure they are tensioned, if you don't know how to tension them, a few bucks now is better than having to replace warped rims later one. . .

Just has a set of these rims laced to Shimano Utregra hubs. 28 & 32 spoke (f&r). LBS built the wheels.
Love the rims, love the wheels. My LBS guy is also big and he swears by these too.
