One more time to clarify my point, whether the bikes I posted earlier on this thread suit you or not (probably not), its about the quality and variety of nice bikes you can find in the used market. The ones I pictured fit me well. If you are patient, and willing to drive a distance, you can and will find sweet used bikes for a small fraction of the cost of a new one. And the other advantage of used, is if you get tired of it later, you can and should be able to get your complete investment back in the resale market.
Whatever you are looking for, if you are willing to go back some years in age, you can find in the used market. I was not looking for the Colnago when it showed up on my local C/L. But it was such a nice bike, at such a good deal, I went for it.
With the economy like it is right now, there are people that are selling off toys, and the higher end stuff is hard to sell (at least around here). You would be doing someone a favor buying their used bike, allowing them to get some cash for other needs.
