Another Test Ride

Shop gave me a Specialized Tarmac for a test ride on Friday. Picked it up today and will put it thru paces in the morning on a club ride. Also posted in road section but thought it would be a good review for us clydes. I'll chime in tommorow with results.

I found a '08 Tarmac Comp Double (orange/blue) for $1,800. Thinking about pulling the trigger.

Well I took the bike out and what a blast. Did 93km on it and it was awesome, can't say enough good things about this bike. Very stiff, responsive, climbed so much better than the bike I ride now. Liked it so much I'm going to drop the hammer and buy this bike. Problem is it's a test bike for the shop and I can't get it for at least two weeks, ah well roads are pretty dirty with sand right now so I'll use my current bike till it's nice out. Could not get over how this bike performs, never felt so confident on decents, will take a little thou to get use to how twitchy it is. Was also first club ride of the year, did about half myself and half with 4 other riders. Did 2400' of climbing which is not in Beanz territory but good for this time of year for us flatlanders.

I can't believe the LBS let you take the bike home. Thanks for sharing.

+1. I bet none of the local shops here would allow an average Joe to take home a bike. They do let you test ride...around the parking lots, or in the neighborhood behind the shop, but that's it. Anything longer than about 15 minutes freaks them out (they got broken into a few weeks ago and two loaded Orbeas were ganked).
