More XTraining, More Mtns!!!

Another Friday crosstraining session!..Did Mom and Dad's yards, front and back, choppped down a small tree then road GMR to the village and back 41 miles with 5k of climbing. Felt really good today. The more ya ride GMR, the better ya feel!

The 20 mile climb (4500 ft)took me 2:09 minutes. Total was 3:17 for the 5000ft. But I just cruise back. What's the sense in racing downhill? The workout is going up!

The plan was to ride thru, no stops but I saw a lil chiney wrench on the side of the road near a lil construction site. I stopped to pick it up so figured I'd get ina pic or two! I asked around but nobody claimed it when I asked so now I have me a nice chiney new wrench!

Down from 248 pre Christmas to 231 this morning. Much better on the climbs!

I know I've told you this a half dozen times by now Beanz, but you got some nice rides down there. It's 40 and rain here.

I hate you guys who get nice weather ALL the time. We had the first day that was nice and you didn't need a jacket out. Was thinking of a ride, until I checked the weather, 30km/h wind with a 50km/h gusts, maybe later. About 2 hours ago, the weatheradio goes off, Severe Thunderstorm warning. It hit about 45 minutes ago, the Gust front was in excess of 100km/h and the rain was going sideways with thunder and lightning. So it looks like my total for the week is going to be less then 10km....

Anything that isn't raining is good to me. It was chilly on the descent and at 30 mph, I pulled over a couple of times thinking I had a flat. The wind was strong and blowing my wheels around. No flat, it was the sidewind.

Riding up was confusing. Windbreaker in rear pocket, got cold and dark like rain. Just as I thought I'd pull over, the sun would shine and make me sweat. Rinse and repeat. But thank goodness I don't live in CA or WA!

In Alabama this week, we bypassed spring and went straight to summer. The high today was 87 degrees.
