Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Windy Spring Ramble

Well, we tried for a longer ride today. My keister is much better, finally, but the 30 MPH winds pretty much killed our 76 mile plans, but we did 15.

Here's where we grabbed some coffee on the ride on the way home, Panera's. They have a nice outdoors terrace, so it's nice. The temperatures got up to 84, but the humidity was minimal, so other than the wind, it ws a pretty comfortable day.

Nice.

Chicago has sun, 20 mph southerly winds and 70 degrees away from the lake and then I had rain, 20 mph northeasterly winds and 50 degrees along the Northshore.

April can be the cruelest month.

Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.
Summer surprised us, coming over the Starnbergersee
With a shower of rain; we stopped in the colonnade,
And went on in sunlight, into the Hofgarten,
And drank coffee, and talked for an hour.

It's good to see you up and about, Tom. Next week beat the wind into submission!

Felt great, too! My butt is starting to be able to stand the saddle. I did a standing sprint headed through the mall, and got to hear "Go Lance, go!"

Guy walked up at Panera's and told me he wasn't trying to offend, he just loved seeing me fly low.
