It's been a while

I've been trying to keep up with the goings on in the forum, but haven't posted in a long while. I am still sub 200, but haven't reached my goal and even gained a few pounds in the last couple weeks.

My wife and I bought a new house and had friends in town to help us move and paint. The only payment they required was tons of Mexican food. I gained about 4 pounds in just a few days and am having a hard time really getting back on track. I've almost gotten back to where I was before the splurge, but I'm feeling like I am cheating more than I used to. I only have 10 more to go and I suppose those are always the hardest, right?

The house is great though and was worth the extra 4 pounds. We moved closer to the center of Tucson which has allowed me to all but give up my truck. Here is a picture of my first grocery shopping trip.

I've been riding my single speed (above) a lot recently because my mechanic discovered a crack in my Jamis. Jamis sent a replacement, but sent the wrong size so I am still waiting.

On Sunday I tried a longish ride on the SS, it was surprisingly fun. We did 30 miles with a little climbing. I think it was about equal to riding 50 miles on the road bike.

Thanks for reading my post (attempt to recharge my weight loss).

Were you able to commute before the move? Nice bike, thanks for the pic. Looks like the way to go. Think of all the extra big gear you can justify without having to use the truck.

I commuted twice a week from the old house. It was about 7 miles one way. Now I commute to work everyday (4 day work week). I am certainly loving the car-light lifestyle.
