    weighed 230 january 1 now at 200 may 7th

    I started trying to lose weight shortly after new years, I imediately cut out soda's and junk food for snacks. I started walking with as much jogging inbetween as I could handle after a couple weeks of 4 times a week of that I got out the bike and started doing some riding on the weekends. eventually i joined the ymca and started a spin class, after a few weeks of doing both running and spin i joined the master swim program and doing 3500 yards of laps 2 to 3 times a week. at this point my schedule is as follows.
    monday : swim 1 hour 3500 yards
    tuesday : spin class 1 hour
    wednesday : swim 1 hour 3500 yards
    thursday : run 3 miles
    friday : swim 1 hour 3500 yards
    saturday : bike ride 30 miles followed up by 2 to 3 mile run
    sunday: typically take off

    doing this so far in roughly 4 months i have lost 30 lbs.
    now I am 5' 8" tall I am 36 yrs old
    I am hoping to get down 20 more lbs possibly by mid summer
    just wondering if anyone has any advise on what I might try doing to lose weight quicker
    right now a typical day consists of cereal for breakfast, mid morning snack is a banana lunch anything from sandwich or salad or healthy choice lunch.
    dinner is something good chicken steak fish with potato or rice. usually after a workout.
    I recently started using hammer nutrition recoverite after my workouts too.

    I wouldn't really try to accelerate your weight loss much more than this. In about 18-19 weeks, you've lost 30 pounds. You can sustainably lose more but, in my experience, weight lost much faster than a pound a week comes back much more easily.

    That being said, if you just want to lose it no matter what, you just eat fewer calories. Don't let protein drop though.

    My doctor said the slower you lose weight the more likely you are to keep it off. He says slow weight loss indicates good long term lifestyle choices.

    I guess I am impatient, I know the lifestyle has changed, I just figure for all the work being put in I would notice more than I am, one day it goes down the next up a little but consistently about a pound or 2 a week is what I am seeing.
