Wish me luck, I'm going in....
Tomorrow I am going after my all time mileage high. It is a organized 77 mile (124 km) charity ride with 2500 plus feet of climbing. Right now I am a little worried about the lack of sleep that I have gotten over the last 2 days since changing back to day shift from my night shift. Otherwise,my body should be up to it. The ride ends up on the Oregon coast, so it should some nice scenery along the way. My wife is meeting me over there and we will spend the night. I will of course take some pictures and post them as part of a ride report. It may Sunday night before I can do so since I don't know what the hotel computer is like, but regardless I will post when I can.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Just enjoy the ride one mile at a time, and the next thing you know, you'll cross the finish line.

That's a pretty flat ride for 77 miles. Just have a great time and make sure to eat a little bit, very often. Last thing you want to do is to bonk. Eat and drink. And have a blast!

The 2500 foot number is based on the bikely.com site, another site has it at 3400 feet, so who knows. My main concern is the biggest hill is at the very end of the ride. The plus side is that it is followed by the biggest downhill Anyway, I have 2 metrics under my belt, so at least I have an idea going in what to expect. Right now I am headed for bed to get as much sleep as possible, 4:45 AM comes early.

Pace yourself, eat and stay hydrated, and you'll be fine.
Don't worry about the lack of sleep. I never get a good night's sleep the night before an event. I did my 300k on 4 hours of sleep. A double century on about 5 hours. Today's century will be on 5 hours of sleep.
