Bike to work week!

Any other clydes participating? Today was the first day of the national event, but Columbus started last week. I didnt ride last week between weather and tapering, so I'm excited to ride tomorrow through Thursday. We went to a cookout/tailgate/parking lot party type of event tonight. Was a lot of fun.

My work didnt have a team, but the school Im taking a couple classes at is, so I joined their team. They are in second place for the business size.

Unfortunately, I am unemployed at the moment, but I am still riding my bike to the gym, so I guess that counts.

Rode to work this evening after being laid up with varying maladies for the last month or so...I'd forgotten how commuting helps me to recenter myself after a crap day at work. I'm home now and much more relaxed (even though I took one of the shorter routes home). I was tempted to keep riding tonight (sometimes I'll add on as much as 15 miles) since it was such a perfect night, but I don't want to screw up any recovery I've made.
Only 5 miles tonight, but they were good miles.

I did and 10:1 odds it rains on me in the morning. It has rained a little everyday for the last 2 weeks. I decided I was going to ride anyway. As long as no strong T-Storms forcasted for my shift. I am on nights for the next 5 nights. Its hard to predict what it will be like in the am. But I do have people that will give me a ride home.

Sorry to here of job loss Jaxgtr. But it looks like you are getting some gym time in, so thats good. Any prospects?

If it's any consolation on the job loss, the market around here is getting better pretty fast. Hopefully that'll continue and spread.

Rode in yesterday, today and tomorrow we're expecting severe thunderstorms. I don't mind a little rain, but "severe thunderstorms" generally means 0 visibility and good chance of hail, so I drove in today. Plan to ride on Thursday/Friday though.

I rode this morning and my legs felt like Jello. We rode about 10 miles last night and today my ride in, while it didnt take any longer than normal felt like a lot more effort.

I am riding here in Indy on Friday with the group from somewhere on the southside. Probably ought to check into that pretty soon. I am going to be a few hours late getting to work, usually I have minimal supervision. I really did work a lot extra for free a week or so ago, so it will just kinda even out.

I ride to work most days...so does that mean that this week I should drive?

Just the week that was chosen. Probably because it corresponds with the beginning of may and the traditional turn of weather. Its actually nice here, with this morning being the coldest of the week, I can't wait to ride home in the 70 degrees and sunny!

I got roped into a bike-to-work team. Rode into work yesterday, got a flat. Got 2 flats on the way home and had to call my wife to rescue me. Woke up this morning with the flu (doc says it's not the swine variety). Apparently the Gods don't want me to bike to work this week (preparing for the locust invasion now).

I'm unemployed as well, but I made two store runs (11 miles each) this week with my bike.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

My commute is to the computer in the living room. (Or a coffeeshop that has WiFi. )

I don't usually ride to work, but ride home on the weekends. I can ride to work on Thursday though. I am off tomorrow, but still plan on riding my bike.

Thunderstorms mean the potential for lightening. Maybe it will fry off a couple of pounds...

I've been riding all week, they are calling for heavy showers in our area tomorrow so I will skip tomorrow and then finish the week off riding.

Rode yesterday afternoon to work (13 miles due to a detour to the nearest store for Red bull) then 12 miles back on my usual route in the chilly night air...that's the first time i rode home..usually i just catch a ride home from a co-worker with the bike riding in the back of his truck

I flatted on the way home... well technically while I was at work, so I guess I flatted on the way there. But the air pressure was fine even when I arrived. Must be another slow small leak, this time im going to get the tube wet inside the tire still and see if its coming from the wheel side or the tire side of the tube

I was going to participate, and perhaps I still will this week, but I seem to have soured on commuting. In two years I've commuted perhaps a dozen times. I don't know if it's the time commitment, the fact the return leg is late at night, the fact my company has no shower I can use when I get there, the fact that it' not a 'straight' commute since I need to hike the bike along a rocky trail for about half a mile, but I don't like commuting. I envy all you daytime, short distance commuters. And, of course, Chipcom, who does 40 miles round trip in all kinds of weather.

I am still commuting by crutch. Seeing as to how I won't be able to plop my butt back on a bike until the end of July, I hate this week.
