    I guess I was due

For those of you who have followed my weight loss journey I have my new weigh in....2.5lbs lost . This by far is not my best weekly weigh in and I'm not sure of the culprit. The only things I can think of are 1. I have done more exercise this week then in past weeks. 2. I didn't complete my food journal this week because I felt that I had been on this new eating plan long enough that I knew what I needed at each meal
    3. Yesterday I rode allot and drank over a gallon of water that may have been still in my system at weigh in. 4. it may just be my plateau time but it seems a little early for that.
I'm not sure what of those it may be but I'm trying not to be discouraged it still is almost 40lbs in less then 7 weeks. I'm not going to change any of the things though except the food journal I will make sure and complete it for every meal this week. -Keep the faith

2.5 pounds a week is 150 pounds a year. I wish I could lose at that rate. Thanks for bragging and making me feel bad.

Seriously, you've lost a tremendous amount of weight over the past seven weeks. And you are going to lose a LOT more weight. Get used to having weeks with a small loss, or perhaps even a small gain. Trust me, I've been there. There's nothing to be discouraged about. Frankly, you should be dancing for joy at this point. (Please warn folks nearby if you start dancing so they can take cover. )

While I don't recommend Dr. Atkins' methods, he did leave a handy definition of plateau - five weeks or more with little or no weight loss. You ain't there, big fella. And frankly, you probably shouldn't even think about a plateau for many months.

You are doing great. Keep it up. GO TC GO!

I have been stuck at my current weight about 4 weeks now but I am eating more and life got in the way some and I didn"t get to ride as much !

TC, don't sweat it too much. It is fairly natural to even out for a little bit. My wife is having the same thing happen to her right now. She went from losing 5 pounds a week to 2, but it progress and that is what counts. Right now I am down to my last 10 or so pounds until I reach my goal and 1 pound a week is all I can muster right now.

    Dude...you lost 2.5 lbs.
Any week where you lose even 1/4 lb is going in the right direction.

Most MD's say 1 to 2 lbs a week is ideal for losing weight and keeping it off.

Don't buy into the hype about losing 5 lbs a week or more.

Yeah, it is what it is. Gotta keep in mind that the bigger you are the bigger your day-to-day fluctuations. So all else being equal you're just fine.

I've been kinda wondering if its my imagination or what - in the last 10 days three different folks at 4 different occasions commented on my apparent weight loss, even though I've been eating more and I've actually gained about 2 pounds. It could be they're just 'being nice' although that many times seems unlikely.

If I've learned anything its just that you gotta be consistent in the long run and the rest will work out

Don't forget that you'll be building muscle too, so your weight loss may slow down but you will still lose fat and look leaner.

Forget the numbers and the scale. If your pants fit better you are doing it right.

2.5 is right where you want to be TC.

Reason is You are saving muscle in place of loosing fat. That is what you want. Even though you want the weight to come off preserving muscle mass is more important because in the long run that muscle mass will help you maintain a faster metabolism and it burns calories much more effectively.
