Saturday I may have to work, but I don’t know yet for sure… Sunday up early to watch the Monaco Formula One Grande Prix live (on TV of course) then watch the Indy 500 and then an evening backyard cookout with my wife. Monday is still up for debate right now, but unfortunately a bike ride is out of the question until I get the word from my favorite orthopedic surgeon about my left knee. I hope I just over did it with my knee, but I’ll have to wait and find out from the pro… :(

Going to fly the Husky up to Oregon and land in the alfalfa field next to my wife's uncle's ranch. Went on a quick bike ride this evening, 'cause I won't be able to ride for he next 3 days. I do like flying though . . . so many toys . . . so little time.

40 miles or so on our new tandem on Saturday (horseback ride in the afternoon). BBQ with sons and one son's family on Sunday. Maybe 20 or 30 miles on Monday and get the horses out again. Chores as required all weekend (yeah, it never ends). Turns out we're off on Tuesday since we don't get Good Friday off any more (not politically correct apparently). We call this Good Tuesday.

Philly Cheesesteak ride on Saturday, plus an extra 14 miles to achieve my birthday ride for the year (64). Daughters and grand kids over Sunday and I grill some steaks. If son in law gets derailleur adjusted and brakes connected on Sunday, will ride new trail bike on Monday.

Sounds like the beginning to my Sunday! :)

With any luck I'll have my wheel back the LBS by then (broken spoke) and will be able to squeeze in a ride over the long weekend. Next week, I start my bike commuting again after a few weeks not doing it (honeymoon and broken wheel combined to keep me from commuting)

Working on the pool Friday and Saturday trying to get it in swim-shape! Gig Friday night, a 40 miler with a local club and practice with the church band Saturday, church Sunday and hopefully swimming on Monday.
Barbeque and cold beverages applied liberally throughout.
Happy birthday to the Beaner and congrats to Heckler! Everybody be safe out there, extra idiots on the roads on holidays!:thumb:

A ride and a trip to the gym today before work.
Saturday the Cheesesteak Ride.
Sunday a trail ride or, if I can get a reservation, a bike tour to Green Lane for camping.
Monday a ride to French Creek State Park for camping.

Not much. I have a history of knocking off a couple centuries on M-Day weekend, but this year I am hobbling on sticks and can hardly get myself down to the end of the driveway. That said, I hope to make the best of the extra rest.

I'm heading out to the local Rail-Trails today to see if I can shove myself off of the weight plateau I'm on. Most of my neighborhood rides are 10-16 miles, I'm going to see if I can double that today. Red Wings on HD tonight, Star Trek matinee tomorrow (can you tell my wife is off scrapbooking?), re-uniting with her and our son (he's at Auntie's) Sunday after Church, and BBQ in the yard on Monday!

Got to look at it today. Three broken spokes (that I know of), the hub needs checked and overhauled and it needs a lot of cleaning up besides. So a big ride definitely is not happening.

Let's see - just enjoying time off but going nowhere.

Saturday - hiking Dilley Reserve in the morning, about 6 miles. Working in my garden the rest of the afternoon.

Sunday - am going to finally see Star Trek (can't wait!), 10 am showing. 3:30 pm heading out to Blackstar Canyon. Leading a family (kids and parent) mountain bike ride through Red Rock Canyon (5 miles flat but with fun little ups and downs and a small water crossing). Always enjoy teaching the little ones how to mountain bike. I plan to preride the course (for total mileage 10 miles) with a new docent to show him the ropes.

Monday: Riding Chino Hills State Park as early as I can get there. The rest of the day I need to clean house and pack for business travel starting Tuesday (ugh).

I am in the process of moving. I may have to ride my bike just to relieve the stress. In a city with 12.9 % unemployment you would think that I can find movers, landscaping, people etc. I am so frustrated.

Gas, .69 cents the price of a can of beans.

We usually spend Memorial Day watching the Tour of Somerville!

While it's not a long weekend here, we had ours last week, I am planning on heading down to the Toronto Islands tomorrow, this will be a bike to the subway to downtown to another short ride to the ferry docks, ferry to the Island then ride from one end to the other and back, then ferry back to the city, then ride back to Union Station, then subway back to our station, then ride home.

I need to check a couple of things, we have two possible starting stations, one has elevators to train level, another depends on an escalator that has been under repair since November (a pipe in the station broke and flooded the escalator), the second one is easier to get to though, no arterials, which is a problem for the one with elevators :notamused:

Nice. You're lucky, my wife refuses to use port-o-lets. We went camping while we were dating, but once she got that ring...

I and about 2000 other people will be running the Cotton Row 10k road race in Huntsville Monday morning. Right now, I am trying desperately to get over this cold that I have so that I will be able to make it.:notamused:

We did out holiday weekend early because our 20th anniversary was on the 20th. Took the new bikes with us and biked Peninsula State Park in Door County, WI. Very short rides because we're so out of shape but the rides were so scenic that I'm not spoiled for riding anywhere else. Got home Friday night and then went out for another short ride through the neighborhood today but my wife had to turn back because of sore knees.

Just an update here, we completed our ride Saturday, will have a ride report on my blog Sunday at 6:00AM! When we got home, my wife wanted to know where we should go next weekend, things are looking up:D

We bailed on the camping tour, since thunderstorms are predicted for tomorrow. :(

After my 52 miles yesterday, I'm just doing a light recovery ride today. The camping overnight on Monday for French Creek State Park is on, however.

Respiratory problem has me sidelined temporarily. :( Just barely keeping up with the demands of work. I'll be out next weekend for the Pike2Bike, but unsure how much I'll be able to complete.

OTOH, the cortisone injections have seemed to help my hands... I may take the Randonnee out mid-week to see how it goes.

Looking forward to seeing all "you guys" next Sunday.

Judy

Just to update, I followed through and rode 30 miles on the trail, it might not seem like a lot to some of you, but that's the most I've ever ridden at once. I had to stop because one tendon in my left knee was getting stiff, so when I got near my starting point (doubled back to hook up to another trail) I went into town for lunch on my bike and called it quits. Surprisingly no pain or stiffness on Saturday. I went for one of my usual 15 miles trips today. Tomorrow - a shorter trip with the Burley in tow!

Thirty miles is a lot. Congratulations!
