Fuji Absolute 3.0
Will a Fuji Absolute 3.0 hold up to a 330# guy? Are the wheels strong enough?

Well, it's got 36 spoke Weinmann Double Walls. I wouldn't huck any curbs, but given a hand tensioning of the spokes, I think they'd hold, and you'll lose that extra weight.....

So is there anything on the Fuji that a Clyde like me would need to worry about? Is this bike a good one for the price or is there something around the same price that would suit me better?

As to the price, you never said what you were going to have to pay for it. What I saw on the site for a list price was ~~$550, if I remember right.

Are the 2009 wheels better than the 2008's Alex ID-19, 36-hole? I bought the 2008 version and I started breaking spokes right away. I was 280 lbs at the time.
I do think a lot of the issue was that I bought it at Performance and they did a piss poor job of putting it together and never really knew what they were doing with the wheels.
I ended up getting a Jamis which had wheels with 32 spokes and it broke spokes a lot less frequently. It completely stopped happening when I had a reputable bike shop rebuild the wheels with beefy spokes.
I guess the real point of my post is "buy it at a good bike shop with mechanics who know what they are doing."

I have had the bike less than a month and have already stressed out the right pedal. The crank, I think is a bit long and the pedal has hit the ground a couple of times and is now all bent up. mostly plastic.
