Anyone headed to RAGBRAI?

I am doing my second year and this year I am with Team Skunk. 440 miles of Iowa road, beer, pie, and partying.

I can't wait!

Council Bluffs has been making big plans for hosting the opening of the RAGBRAI so I hope you get down a day or two early. Be sure and check out the CB trail system (trail goees under a Harrah's casino via its parking lot) and the new "pedestrian bridge" bridge between Council Bluffs and Omaha. It is architecturally interesting at the very least.

Not to be partisan, but there is better food and such on the Omaha side of the river.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I'm doing the ride for the first time. Signed up with the Ron Oman Charter service. Looking forward to it!
Hope I don't "jinks" things, but right now, weather is looking good. Highs, low to mid 80's, lows mid to low 60's. Chance of thunderstorms one day. Sounds like perfect riding weather!

Add me to the list of people wishing they could go to RAGBRAI...

Anyone know of something similar that's a bit closer to Pee-Aye? I know of the one in Georgia which is tempting but I don't think BRAGG would be much closer.

Hope your having a blast at RAGBRAI Tom! You might remember I went last year and it was a blast. I was just itching to go this year, but I just couldn't justify two years in a row (only get so much vaca). But I'm definately going next year! I love the look I get from people when I tell them that I'm taking a week off to spend biking across Iowa - they have NO idea how fun it is. Should be on the "bucket list" for any fan of cycling, fun, camaraderie, road-side waterslides, camping, and pie!!
Until then, I'll just have to follow the RAGBRAI website for the awesome pics
