How many clydes in the race?...Somedude told me about his and his wife's 3rd place finish in a timetrail tandem division. I asked how many tandems, he said I wasn't supposed to ask!....3

In most multi sport races, the Clydedale division has the same, if not more atheletes than each individual age goup. A podium as a Clyde in a multi sport race is nowhere near a podium "Time Trial on a Tandem".

Again, Congrats!

Thanks for our experience but unless you were in THIS race, you don't know the answer!

You are absolutely correct, I don't know the answer 'cause I wasn't in THIS race. Others trying to minimize the OP's accomplishment by implying that the only reason they "podiumed" was due to lack of participants weren't there either.

Duh! If I was there, I wouldn't need to ask the question would I?

Not trying to minimize the accomplishment but a better feel for it. Like when I've done a timed century with 10,000ft , I finished at #123. Sounds sucky but figuring there were 400 riders, doesn't sound so bad.

SO if there were 50 partcipants in the multisport, then that woudl be GREAT! If there were 6, then maybe not so great as far as finishers! Just looking for pertinent facts.

We all know that plenty of riders end to leave out the facts in their favor. If I post a result, I always note the number of riders too. Heck the results are even posted online so why lie or hide facts?

Dude, just cause you got schooled on damaging tubes doesn't mean you have to attack me here. The question isn't even directed towards you!

I made a podium once. Used some 2 x 4s, some plywood, nails and some paint. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Congrats on a job well done! Especially since you were off 2 weeks prior. I had a skinny guy tell me to rest the week before the tri so you are fresh, maybe the 2 weeks off helped?

I've done 3 sprint Tri's and I podiumed the last one for Clydes XL3. Of course I came in 2nd of 2, but the medal is just as well deserved. I wasnt DFL in my 3rd race (as I was in my 2nd), so that alone on a longer course meant a lot to me.

Frankly if they did weight classes above maybe 250 or definitely 300, I'd probably win every time

50% is great! Completing it is great! But just like to know the facts so I know just how hard to pat one on the back!
