Sorry to leave all of you...

Actually, I know I haven't posted much in this forum, but I have been impressed with all the inspirational stories. Being 6'4", falling into the Clyde category was easy for me. Throughout college I was about 220 until having that number creep up to 245 as a software developer. Hours in front of the computer and takeout food didn't seem to benefit my health, oddly enough.

A couple of years ago I got an entry-level Scattante bike from Performance (R-560) but did not start to put in any serious mileage until about a year ago. Since then, I have put in more and more miles and switched to a healthier, more balanced diet (and more moderate portions!). Sure enough, those pounds slowly but surely disappeared. Over 45 pounds lost. I haven't been this light since sometime before college. I feel much better in general, no more heartburn and I have a hobby that I really enjoy as well.

So, I'm sad I'm not officially allowed in this club any more..but hey, that was the goal!

Congrats on the weight loss!

Technically the Tri definition of "Clyde" is over 200 lbs or over 6 feet tall, so you get a pass on hanging out. Besides, Emeritus status still has full membership privileges.

Or you could consider yourself an honorary Clydesdale. But, credit to txvintage, "Emeritus" is an even better term.

In any case, congratulations and good job!

You're welcome. You earned it. I came up with the Emertus Certificates a long tie ago as a small recognition of the intense effort and dedication it takes to hit a goal. I als try to award certificates for significant milestones along the way.

Started at 219lb and currently at 203,(as of today) shooting for 185-190. then going to start doing P90X and get some lean muscle going...I've done quite a bit of cross-fit and P90X before...it's no joke!

Congratulations!

Stories such as yours are one reason I come to this forum. I need the inspiration to keep going on my journey to below-200lbs. Keep coming back, if for no other reason than to give encouragement to people like me who struggle to lose weight and keep it off.

Is the cross-fit basically a form of cross-training?
