CliftonGK1's post got me thinking...

Hi All!

CliftonGK1 notes that he is losing weight by eating fewer processed foods and cutting out snacks.
And he has not changed the amount he eats, just the quality of what he eats.
This is good advice for any of us looking to lose extra pounds.

Along the same lines, I offer the following:
Drastically reduce or eliminate altogether alcohol consumption.....beer, wine, etc.,contain a huge number of
empty calories.
And, get plenty of sex. Sexual frustration is temporally alleviated by overeating....later, the frustration returns and the pounds remain.

Best,
Cyril

Not to nitpick here, but doesn't alcohol consumption typically result in sex? So wouldn't one cancel the other?

I've been trying to tell this to my wife for years. "Honey, it's my new diet/exercise program."
With mixed results. Perhaps you have some research materials I could show her?

Well, unfortunately the results are usually inversely proportional to the ladies age. It typically works well when they are younger, but as they age the effectiveness wanes. Wedding cake has been known to completely disrupt the program!

Actually, I'm pretty lucky. The wife tends to get quite amorous after a margarita or two.

I will note a few things:

1) I also quit alcohol. None, nada, zip.
2) I ride a lot of miles. A lot. On the weekend, a metric is a nice warm up ride. 200k is a "short" ride with my club. I did 1100k in just 4 events this year with that club, and I'm on my 9th century ride for the year.

The dietary changes have helped immensely, but be certain they're only part of the equation. Upping my mileage by over 1000 miles from last year hasn't hurt. If I'm not at work or sleeping, I'm probably on my bike.

I've been trying to get my doctor to write me a prescription for it. No luck as of yet...

Was a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago.
Before the Menopausal, Angry at the World (and especially men), hormonally imbalanced phase of our marriage. (sigh)

That leaves me with food and riding.
