Good luck with that. We've got quite a few members of the forums in general that are riding post stent and post bypass surgery.

Have had stents and angioplasty. Also had to return shortly after the first ones. Good as new now. A little change in lifestyle helped.

Hang in there....they're pretty good at that shlt these days.

Good luck with the diagnosis.

One stent July 2007. Stress test w/nuke every 12 months to make sure stent is clear.

I have had two heart attacks and triple bypass. That was in 2000 and have had no real trouble since. Exercise and nutrition are key. Of course it took me nine years after my surgery to finally get it in my head to begin a good fitness program, which includes nutrition. If you want my email and phone number so you can ask questions or just to get support from someone who has been there pm me. Good luck.

Good luck joco!

And in answer to your question in the subject line, no, I don't, but allegedly according to a report folks with scoliosis run an elevated risk for heart trouble.

2 stents on April 30th of 2008.. No issues since and I've still got one artery with some blockage that they couldn't fix because it's so small.. Lost 50 pounds and radically changed my lifestyle..

Good luck, hope everything works out for the best..

I was told that my body would take care of it, I have a bit of tightness every now and then, but never when I ride, only resting.. Haven't felt the need to pop some nitro yet, but the doc said to try it out..

The only thing that bugs me is the beta blocker and keeping my heart rate down, sometimes I just can't get the HR up to a decent amount.. I'm on the lowest dose though and my resting rate is around 50..

Good luck, hope everything works out for the best, keep us updated and ride hard.

Yeah I have had heart problems but nothing like what has been listed here. I had open-heart surgery when I was 4, sub aortic stanosis (sp?). Tissue growth that started shortly after birth that eventually clogged my main aorta. 32 years ago heart surgery wasn't what it is today so while they were clearing the clog my main aorta valve took some damage. It leaks now and doesn't close all the way. They told me I would need it replaced by the time I was 16. Now I am 36 and it still hasn't been replaced. If technology improves by the time I need it they won't even have to cut me to replace the valve. I can always hope.

hi all.

ok....i got those 2 stents in august 2008...............BUT GOT 2 more in nov 2009 after thaat.

i still had then in 2009 a 100% BLOCK ONE THAT COULD NOT BE DONE AND A 70% BLOCK THAT THEY SAID WILL BE DONE WEN 80%..ONLY..MUST THERE NOW AFTER 1.5YEARS.

my prob is my weight...was down to 232 14 months agao..NOW back up to 295..this is no good at all.

i been back on the saddle...for the past week now going working..but alway have that heart in my back off my mind..that 70% that be up now and just waiting to click.off.....that scray stuff in my mind...

but i dont want to be siting and do nothing so..i am talking my chance.

Prayers.

I'm riding to keep away from heart problems. Have dropped my blood pressure and got off a couple pills. Long ways to go, but I'm on the right path.

I suffer from Atterial Fibulation and Congetstive Heart Failure. I have to watch what I do and how hard I do things. I have to aviod high tempatures and humid situations. I'm watching what I eat and excercise very moderatly. For me it's riding at a low speeds and not to over do it.I alsp had a defibulator put in 2009.I have to watch my BPM,so anything below 135 is good.

Are you on the beta blocker for HBP? You might talk to your doc about using an ACE inhibitor instead.

Reminds me of the scene in "Jaws" where Quint and Hooper are comparing scars. Wel.... See this right here? That's where the surgeon cracked my chest in 1990 and put in a mechanical aortic valve.
