For a first group to ride with I suggest your speed/distance ability fits in with the group pretty well. They do lots of interesting rides around orange county (not just the river).

Don't forget to post to the Orange County Regional thread.

When you feel ready check out (Web site for Bicycle Club of Irvine or BCI). Large friendly road club. Saturdays are especially suit to new club riders. You can find your group (I would start with "yellow") and ride along. There is always a coffee stop in between so folks can regroup. Another good group is (Orange County Rebel Riders).

If you post to the Orange County thread, Mr. Beanz is always organizing SART rides... Actually Beanz posts here too...

If you ever want to mountain bike, let me know....

Private docent led mountain bike rides through Limestone Canyon. Go to and register today! Also available: hikes, equestrian rides and family events as well as trail maintenance and science study.
