The leaves haven't even finished changing and falling off the trees yet. It's been snowing for the past 1.5 hours here in Central PA. Not accumulating but still snowing. Needless to say this has put the kabosh on my lunch time riding for the season. So much for global climate warming change or whatever they are calling it these days.

Sorry about the snow, but we still have green leaves and we had snow last weekend. I am not ready for it, but the rollers in the basement already have 100 miles on them. Time to start renting some new DVD's for the weekend long work outs. :-)

I don't mind snow but I just cut my grass (hopefully for the last time this year) this past Sunday. It's a wee bit early for snow in these parts. Well, looks like I will just breakdown and buy some studded tires for my MTB and enjoy it.

Welcome to the club. We had our first snowfall last week and got more yesterday. An Arctic cold front moved in causing our temps to fall well below normal--our overnight lows have dipped into single digit territory, way too early for this type of cold. So much for today's headlines that the US weather service's long term forecast for this winter predicts milder temps in the northern states. I expect that long term forecast be changed after the fact (last year the weather service had to modify their long term winter weather forecast after we had record cold that broke 50-year-old records and back-to-back storms that kept dropped record amounts of snow). The change to the forecast will probably get no publicity since no one wants to hear that temps may get colder, not warmer.

It's sad that the best riding weather came and went in about 2-weeks or so it seems. I'm in central NH and although it hasn't snowed yet it's in the forecast for tomorrow. When I got up this morning it was a refreshing 25 degrees and that's not Celsius.

State College, it seems the rain/snow line is at Seven Mountains. A friend of mine went down to Reedsville last night which is on the other side of the mountains and it has just been raining down there and on the way back at the top of Seven Mountains is changed to snow. There are trees snapping and downing power lines everywhere and it is still snowing. Schools are closed due to the power outages. It is not supposed to stop until Sat night/Sun morning.

Haven't had any snow down here in NC...but it's definitely gone a little colder. I tend to ride first thing in the morning, before I go to work - and this morning it was pretty chilly. Sufficiently cold and damp that I just ordered myself one of these from Aerotech.

As soon as it arrives we'll probably have a late-fall heat wave or something...

We definitely got snow here in my part of central PA on Friday. I only got to watch part of the Penn State game on Saturday, but it was crazy that they lost so many parking spaces due to the snow...especially for homecoming!

Been seeing occasional snow for the last couple of weeks, and on the days it hasn't snowed it's usually been a cold, cold rain. Morning temps are well below freezing. Haven't missed a day riding to work yet.
Not too many hills here in eastern South Dakota, so skiing's not much of an option unless you like driving a long distance to do it.

Must be nice. It's going to be in the high 60's here today, and in the low 70's tomorrow.
We haven't had any snow in 5 years. We used to get tons of snow when I was a kid...

Well, it's is 60 degrees today! Snow has all melted and gone. It was like experiencing three seasons over this past weekend. Fall - Winter - Spring, skipped summer and back to Fall today. I think everyone has thier power back on. There is a lot of tree clean up going on around these parts today. Time to get out and ride before winter really gets here!!

They decided to not let people park on grass parking lots which amount to the Intramural Sports fields and some pastures etc. The sports fields would have been torn apart as it was a heavy wet rain and the ground was no where near being frozen. The pastures they also park on are rolling hills and people would have been getting stuck left and right. Penn State made the right call. They worked it out with many large businesses in the the area to let people park there and they had shuttle buses running to and from the stadium. I haven't heard anything bad and all good that it all seemed to work out.

Yeah, I wasn't saying anything bad about it...just that it's crazy that they lost so many parking spaces.
