Me, myself, and I
Hello all,
Figure time for my own little intro besides just trolling the forums.

Like most people, I have my own little story. So I'll make it quick cause I have homework I need to do.
My name is Matt and I'm a 20 year old college student from Columbus Ohio (right outside of Hilliard for any cbus folks). In March of 09 I decided to make a decision I have forever regretted, one that landed me in the hospital for a month and brought me out lucky to be alive. I was diagnosed with Major Depression and Bi-Polar Type 2. At this time I did nothing with my life and was weighing in at around 260lb. When I was a senior in High school just 2 years before, I had been 185lbs.
My older brother in Nevada had just started biking when he was nearing the 300lb. mark. Today he is just shy of 210lb. And he was my inspiration to give biking a little chance.
My first ride I did on my dads old huffy were nothing fantastic but I didn't mind it. Eventually it drew into this new passion and love. I loved the challenge to it and the thrill. I was enthusiastic every time I broke the 20mph mark and I literally laughed out load one time when I passed a car in a 25mph zone.
Time came and I was able to buy my own bike. Yes. Its a crappy walmart denali and it's nothing special at all. But keep in mind I have 2 maxed out credit cards and almost 10k in hospital bills. So I'll deal with saving the extra money. I am hopeful by next Summer I can upgrade to a better bike though.
I have been able to get out less lately due to weather but when its decent enough and I'm not killed by school, I enjoy my break out. And I'm proud to say that after 3 months I'm at 219lbs. My goal is to get out of the 200lbs so that I can continue to pick up hot college girls.
Regardless. I am proud to be apart of the forum and glad to have more inspiration to keep doing what I'm doing.

Congratulations on your determination! And don't feel you need to apologize for your Denali. It's a nice looking bike and more importantly, you are riding it and seem to be having a blast!

Hi Matt,
Welcome to the forum. Don't worry about the Denali. There are alot of guys with $2000 bikes hanging in there garage collecting dust. The important thing is that you are riding. I have also suffered from major depression in my life. You are not alone on that. Good luck on continued success.

Thanks! I'm going to start planning a longer trip soon. The 50 mile trip mark is next on my list. Hoping to knock that out before snow.
Thanks man. Its just easier to say my reasoning for owning it over saying its there. Cause I would honestly perfer a better bike. But it works for me now and has been pretty reliable. So I'm not too concerned.

The Columbus Craigslist get about 75 new used bicycle adds every day. Keep them in mind when you update there are tons of great deals.

The Columbus Craigslist get about 75 new used bicycle adds every day. Keep them in mind when you update there are tons of great deals.
And just to throw out there of course. Anyone in the cbus area interested in riding, I'm always up for company.
