2010 Biggest Loser Week 1 1/4 - 1/10 ???
OK Show of hands....you guys interested in having a Biggest Loser Thread this year? I am but I would like to see if this is seen as a nuisance or something others are interested. Each week post your weight and goals for the week.
Last year I gained weight about 10-11 lbs (I think I was 173 at some point and am now 184). Though that may be seen as a failure - to me it's a success. I showed up each week - and did not gain 50 pounds.
OK so - let me know you in it for the year???? Anyone is wlecome to join -but let's make sure this somehting y'all want to repeat or start this year!
NOTE: WEIGH IN WILL BE ON MONDAYS AND PLEASE POST GOALS FOR THE WEEK.

I am definitely interested, it keeps me honest some weeks.
Last year I started at 442 in February (when I started doing this), and 382 as of this morning, so I was down 60 lbs. A good portion of that due to this board. Thanks to everyone and lets keep it up this year.

I'm in and have been watching for this thread actually. My goal is to lose 70 pounds this year by my birthday in July. I've got a jump start - been on my diet since December 21st. Lost 2 lbs that week and another 2.5 lbs the week of December 28th. My goal is 2.5 pounds a week the first couple of months and then 2 lbs later on. I started at 255 and I'm 6'1". My goal is 185.

Like the OP I gained some weight.
Start the year at 215 lbs.
It is not about riding , but about eating. 15923 miles last year.

I'm in this year. I regained all of the 35 lbs I lost a few years ago and I need to lose even more. I have made gradual changes over the last several years including regular cycling, eating more fruits and veggies, reducing fat intake, cutting out soda and I was still eating too much. I am going to have to count calories and cut the sweets and carbs.
I started the year at 226. I weighed in today at 219. My goal is to get so far on the other side of 200 that I never see that number on my scale again, even if I backslide.

OK Sounds like we are on - Consider this week one's thread and we all weigh in on Monday for week 2!
Great to see a bunch of us are interested.
My story - for today - I have a way to go mentally to commit to losing weight. Of course I would love to be thinner - but so far have not been willing to do the work. I think it will help when i am back to travelling and at work again (mid-Jan or end of Jan I think). So I have had a ton of time home....and wine,,,entrtaining etc.
So far Triathalon training going well! Today was a short run (4 miles) man I can not believe that I am now referring to 4 miles as a short run! Then I swam for about 45-50 minutes... (.78 of mile or 60 25 yard lengths)....
Anyhoo that's a bit of my story of late - a little depressed...having no client/job is a little weird - and the guy I was dating is probably not for me...so have been eating a bit.... but atleast I am going to the gym!
Ok look for week 2 thread Monday. Kepp going guys.
My goals:
Drink more water!!!
Be at peace.

I'm in this year. I have been more of a lurker on this site than a poster, but I am up for the challenge. I am at 273lbs this morning and want to get down to 225lbs.

I'll stay in. I used this thread last year to get to my goal weight as it was very helpful.
Recap: Started the year around 210-215 ended the year at 179, today 182.
Goal for 2010: Stay 2 to 3 pounds on either side of 180.
How? Ride 7500 miles, run 600 miles, swim a bunch and continue to watch what I eat
Good luck to all!!!

Hey RayB - No way are you banned. For every former hefty person - who has lost weight and kept it off I would say that that person had probably tried a bazillion times until they finally found their success. So kep picking yourself up, dusting off and trying again. Get right back on the bicycle. Rah!!!

I'll do it again and hopefully I'll have a better year. I actually started paying attention to my eating habits on December 26th. I did so good last year starting around 225 and got down to 210 by August. Then life went for a crap and the lbs started coming back. Ended up at 240 Xmas day. Last I stepped on scale two days ago I was at 233lbs so it's a start. Not mentioning a goal till I get there.
As of 12-26-09 - 240
10-01-10 - 232
Loss of 8 lbs
