Tricycle_Rider's Video - Riding in Kingston, Jamaica

A video of my riding partner Wayne and some girl he met on the road riding on the Palisadoes Road in Kingston. We went right past the spot where the American Airlines crashed a couple months ago.

I had a flat that morning, and neither of us had patches or anything, so I went for a 4 mile walk and then drove along the route looking for him, I had my phone with me and just recorded him, he was doing his second circuit on the route and he looked tired.

The clicking is my hazzard lights and I had the radio on so we wouldnt have to suffer in silence, the glare is from the hot Kingston sun

Aaahhhhh Jamaica!! Cycling in the nice warm Carribean. Thanks for the video. I am sitting here looking out my window at 14" of snow and the roads are still covered a little bit and we are supposed to get more snow this week. It's about 17 degrees out right now. The road seems somewhat narrow, do you have to worry about car traffic when you are riding?

Yeah, our cold weather is 60 F

Its Jamaica bro, most of the roads are narrow.. one lane going, one lane coming.

There are 4 lane roads but that is a way off and I need to build up some more stamina before tackling those, the road I live on is about the same size and if I ride here I have to deal with buses, trucks, trailers, cars, etc.

A couple years ago some cyclists were killed on this same road, apparently a taxi driver was on his way home at about 6am and fell asleep at the wheel and missed a corner and plowed into 6 or 7 people, it was a big thing back then. We try to be on the lookout, fortunately there are now dozens of cyclists riding on a Saturday and Sunday and quite a few during the week, so they have gotten used to us riding there.

I will have Wayne record our ride on the weekend and post a good quality video.
